The pressure for healer DPS doesn't come from the game, but from the community, so it's not their job to fix that. If your Raid leader is bitching about your DPS as a WHM (which is the only healing job that has a lot of actions that can miss), you have bigger problems than accuracy – which can be solved with melded gear and the mind you'll lose won't affect your healing output that much if you do it properly.
WHM having the best burst DPS is debatable. Stone III is only 10 potency higher than Malefic II and 40 higher than Broil, but AST/SCH's DoTs are stronger and some of them can't miss; so, unless that phase lasts less than 30s, WHM won't do as much as any of the other two without accuracy melds – and the loss in MND from melding that should also be noticed. If your party is hurting for DPS that much, you guys should consider bringing a different job or melding accuracy into healing gear. The pressure from the DPS check comes from eagerness to clear content fast, not from poor game design.
He's saying PoM is perfect for A3s hand split phase (burst) because it is about 20 seconds and a WHM can pop PoM&Stone3 spam to met the harsh DPS check. Therefore WHM has the best burst DPS for this particular encounter.
Best DPS imo goes SCH>WHM>AST most of the time.
And arguably it is poor game design because that DPS check must be impossible with the 4 DPS check alone. Idk, our group barely gets past it with tanks+healer DPS and our DPS is pretty solid. I imagine other groups don't experience the latency we do as Australian players but there's no way only the 4 DPS can get through that check alone.
Edit; And our DPS comp is DRG/MNK/BLM/MCH arguably best burst DPS in game? SMN obviously OP for A1&A2.
Then use melded gear with accuracy and the OP's issue is fixed. If missing things as a WHM (which is the OP's concern in the first place) is THAT much of a DPS loss, it can mean a lot of things and one of them is that the developers don't want groups clearing it as fast as the community wants to clear it; that's not poor design, it's actually a very smart move to keep content relevant. My point remains the same: if a WHM is missing that much, his burst DPS is not as good as the other two healers. In a dummy, ok, but not in an actual fight. If you're doing more DPS than the other two healers, then there's not an issue in the first place and this whole thread is pointless (as usual).
