Something like that. They might just have been having problems with the system at whatever time lacaplol's friends ran into trouble. It may or may not have been fixed by now - I can't really say, as I don't know when all this happened - but I haven't seen many complaints about it recently, so I think it's safe to assume it has been.

I just figure that if it were still a big problem, people would be ranting all over the forums about it.

Heads up OP I would recommend grabbing a recruit a friend code from the thread at the top of this page before you sub for some free goodies.

They DO tend to rectify issues with bad codes very quickly. I pre-ordered the OS X version, but when HW landed, I got a d/l link to the pc version AND the reg codes they were giving out were to the pc version as well. Took a couple of days, but it got correctly sorted by then.

One thing they have NOT dealt with is a lot of the functionality you need to have dealing with the websites don't say it but are strictly m$ only. I could NOT register it because they never sent me the necessary e-mail (tried dozen of times weith all sorts of different email addresses, including gmail)... AND I had to "choose" my main character to use this site which did not work. Had to have a friend running m$ to do those things for me.

1. Yes.
2. You actually should wait, unless the bundle is on sale. You have to complete all of the main story line to start on HW anyway so by buying HW now, all you get is the new race to play with.
3. Around level 23 or so of the MAIN STORY QUEST LINE. Your level doesn't count so much as long as you're at or above the MSQ. At level 30, you can train it to fight with you and it flies with you at level 52 (though you get a black chocobo that flies at level 50.)
