Enough about AST! How do I use Emergency Tactics?

I feel that the emphasis is on "tactics." This is not the ability you hit when someone is literally about to die (Lustrate and Indomitability can be used for that already); you use it to more easily avert an imminent healing emergency.

There are 2 reasons to use Emergency Tactics:

1.) When AOE damage is taken, and players are not in danger of taking damage in the next 30 seconds. Using it with Succor here allows that Shield damage to be converted to HP instead of falling off.
2.) When trying to get a tank up quickly from low HP and using back to back Adlos. Since shield don't stack, using Emergency Tactics here on the second Adlo allows max effective life per GCD.

I never use ET with Adlo. As, people have already mentioned, I think the best use is to turn succor into medica when one succor isn't enough to top everyone up.

When you crit with your adlo on your tank and he is at low hp : ET + adlo is usefull

When you adlo your tank with low hp and the boss cast a skill : ET + adlo during the cast can be usefull

All this...lesson taught.

Emergency Tactics is pretty sweet too when you're solo healing or healing an assigned tank only. You may see more uses of it for Succor when playing with an AST as your co-healer. But its as I like to say, there is no recipe for healing. Try some methods and see how it works better for you and your healing partner.

i would say use it for succor, i found it pretty pointless using it for adlo. since SCH used to "lack" AoE heals in 2.x(only having succor) now because of emergency tactics you basically 3 AoE's. Though since none of them are spammable i would definitely leave emergency tactics for succor and AoE healing.

Emergency Tactics + Succor = Medica

Emergency Tactics + Adloquium = Cure II (If critical, DOUBLE CURE II! *maybe*)

ET + Adlo = non instant Lustrate for 1k mana that will grossly overheal if it crits , there i fixed it for you.

ET tactics succor is particularly useful when there's a ton of aoe and you don't really need the shield afterwards, or when you want to help your whm that is struggling with mp.
Some very nice examples on how ET succor is useful can be found in alexander savage clears videos by elysium and lucrezia.
Not very useful on adlo imo, but you can always use it to save one AF and slightly increase your dps /shrug
