best place for Ishgard housing is to sell us Islands on the Sea of Clouds, that would be awesome.

Wrong again. The lore allows for whatever the writers want. Did you pay attention to the cutscenes from 55 onward? There's plenty of excuse for changes. As a poster above pointed out, they could open up the sea of clouds or some such using the exact same excuse the original housing wards used.

FWIW I'd buy a slum shanty though ：)

Well... only SE has actual data, but from where I am, I'd say 40m today feels about equivalent to the 6ish mil smalls costed when they launched. In any case, enough people would be able to afford it to buy out the supply. A lot of people wouldn't and would complain about both price and availability. And SE will do nothing ：-) (Except maybe make a post saying that they feel they've fulfilled demand for housing once more.)

We know what the Brume is. We know that Square would make the price the same as the other plots.

And this is also what the lore would allow adventurers to move into if read the story. This is probably why SE said at first there probably wouldn't be any housing in Ishgard until they fit in a reason for it to work in the story.

It seems the actual problem here is you thought your "joke" was a lot funnier than it actually was...(not at all).

What's amazing is that people think they can make sarcastic jokes online still (which aren't even fully fleshed out until a Edit comes in) and have their thoughts interpreted perfectly by a community filled with people from all over the world.

Pretty sure the first 6 responses answered this question until OP realized his point wasn't made well. Do YOU know how to read?

What we will get will be unlocked VIA a MSQ patch. It may or may not be gated behind an MSQ but when it opens up it will make sense VIA what is happening in the game. Just like how they added in ROG.

you just don't know what a joke is.

the proper response wouldn't have been "No, housing will never be cheap."

it would be more like "they shouldn't put it in the Brume and instead put it some place where it makes sense to justify the cost the players will inevitably have to pay for the plots."
