Straight to the duty finder.

Personally I just don't see the harm, if some groups clear it in df that's awesome, if others don't that's to bad, but i would like the option. and people complain no matter what, I'm not here to complain i am here to suggest. hopefully square enix considers the request.

i think another amazing option would be inbuilt Duty finder voice chat. it would make the game more social. and anyone who does not want it could turn it off.

I do see the harm, because the content needs to be tuned down in order to be DFeable. That would kill its difficulty and some of us really want some challenging encounters. If you cleared Coil before it was nerfed, you would understand why it's such a bad idea and almost impossible to conquer via DF.

No reason it can't be tuned down later, square enix can add the fight in its hardest mode to the duty finder and then at a later date make it easyer for the more sucky players with a patch / add an echo. there is no reason it can't be in the duty finder and remain hard. its square enix that makes the fight easyer not the duty finder.

I have cleared every fight that I have done before nerfing.

And since you brought up player performance in DF, I didn't forget one of the things Yoshida said in an early live letter was how the Crystal Tower raids were supposed to be a lot harder, but they were toned down because they knew that having a bunch of random players who don't know each other or knew how everyone else played wouldn't go well; sort of like if they had planned the Coils to be open in DF in day one, regardless of difficulty.

And you don't think that the fact it will be available for everyone will effect the design/mechanics at all?
Either they will create content that will be nerfed in weeks for the majority or create nerfed content to begin with so everyone can clear it.

The problem lies with how Coil and Alexander was designed. They both have pretty important story stuff, which was why the Echo was added to the Coils - so that more of the playerbase can see the story. However, for Alexander, there exists a Story Mode and a Savage Mode. More than likely, we probably will not see the Savage mode being eased as there is no point other than the loot and titles. The whole "story" argument made sense in the Coils, but not so much with Alexander. If anyone wants it eased, they're most likely just in it for the loot.

I would like this too, but there are a couple of things to consider here:

Server/World firsts:
I know that SE doesn't acknowledge these, but they do exist, and provide a bit of bragging rights for the people that accomplish them. Making all content DF'able from day 1 takes away from this (theoretically, DF could get datacenter or world firsts)

Minimum ilvl requirements:
This is the doozy. All DF'able content must have a minimum ilvl requirement. This is usually not the absolute minimum ilvl required for completion, but rather a minimum reasonable ilvl. This means that groups would be required to get better gear than they might otherwise need to complete the duties. Right now, this seems easy enough (160 for Bis EX, 170 for Rav EX and Alex N - easy to get from unlimited resources), but what about Alex S? What ilvl requirement would you put on Alex S? 180? 190? No matter where it gets put, it's going to be either too low or too high for some people, and apparently the restriction can't currently be lifted for preformed parties.

The solution? Well, currently SE seems to want to make DF'ers wait (nearly) until the next tier of content comes out before being able to run content in DF. Instead, put the content in DF after 1-2 weeks, and advertise the recommended minimum ilvl (which will become the DF requirement later) on release. This gives statics enough time to get their ilvls up to that level before the content hits the DF, and also plenty of time to get their "firsts" if they're after them.
