Blue Gatherer Scrips

All this aside, I think the scrip system needs serious work.

You can only begin really collecting them in earnest around level 58. The gear they award is level 55 gear, and has no slots.

You can buy HQ level 60 gear with better stats and materia slots, for a relatively cheap price (on my server at least).

What is the point of the Scrip gear? It is sub par at best and still doesn't meet the required gathering level of the regional folklore items.

If the intent was to avoid forcing us to buy expensive crafter gear and slotting all of it to gather the highest level items on at least one class (as it was advertised) then it has fallen flat in my opinion.

Script gear is fine for not spend cash on it.

As a fisher i have no complains since not so hard to get, Working fine as intended.

I concede, I mislisted as Item level 55.

That said, I don't agree they are working as intended. You cannot acquire folklore items with Scrip gear alone, your stats will be too low for any gathering class.

Folklore items are those that require 99 Rowena's tokens (each at 50 scrips a pop) which are exposed after you read the folklore tome.

SE advertised the Scrip system as a way to get high level Gathering without the need for melds, which is untrue and misleading, as if you really want to gather those highest level items, you most certainly need HQ overmelded gear from crafters in at least some slots.

Nope, you can get the collectables needed with NQ lvl 55 items from churning mist npc/job quest rewards items. The only trouble maybe will be jewerly, but lvl 50 stuff is fine with just normal meld if you need Gath or Perc. (or well if you have a supra/foragers gear have no trouble at all). And food, npc food from foundation is good too ;).

Fisher need mostly pray for good RNG, and on BTN/MINER there are good rotations, though you may just be getting one collectable per time.

I think he means gather from legendary nodes, not get the collectibles for the books.

Yeah you're not understanding what I'm trying to say Zorlinta.

You will realize when you get to the legendary nodes that require folklore tomes. It is impossible to gather them with just Scrip gear.

Well ... one thing I think you're overlooking is they had kind of talked about both red and blue scrips at the same time.

I suspect that red scrips will be gatherable with blue scrip gear. Its the red scrips that are going to allow you to use those Folklore nodes.

Though they may add more nodes, I don't think they are going to add many, as there are a lot of items (especially from the current folklore nodes) that have no use. So while they will add a lot of recipes, I believe most of those will make use of those materials rather than all new materials.

As you can see from my earlier post simply having the 55 NQ equipment items is not enough. And level 50 equipment most certainly isnt. (lucis aside)
I've seen a lot of posts claiming this, but im not certain how you can argue against hard facts.

Reaching the required stats requires some melds (perception or gp) and using food (perception or gp, the one you didnt meld). The further away from 60/59 (for the tools) you are, the more melds you would need.


Please dont give the false advice that ''NQ equipment will be enough'', but rather give actual tips that will help someone that is struggling to obtain scrips.


Personally it annoyed me to hell to have people say ''its easy to collect scrips'' except I couldnt, not untill I did some heavy gear upgrades. I didnt have anywhere near the required perception level, and it would have saved me some frustration if someone had pointed this out.

I am still clueless about this collectable stuff.

And only L 54 BOT.

BUT I am in all 2.55 fully mended BiS (not optimally on the offhand). 633 GPs, gathering 492, perception 468. So I know I qualify. 652 GPs with cheap vendor food but then again I can casually HQ dzemal au gratin.

Sad heard you had troubles on that.

As fisher the only trouble i have was getting the gobling jig lure & get into a good pool to can fish because i was low on MSQ compared to my fisher level.

I begin with melded fisher set and lucius weapon, but thar was lvl 50-53, also equipment i got from job quest were better than what i was wearing, so im switched to it, also replaced my overmelded gather/perception battle jewerly for some HQ lvl 50 and some NQ lvl 54 (wich have same stats with mats i had) to improve my gp and can use patience.
By the time i was level 58 and got a goblin jig & get into pool to fish with those new equipment, got no troubles in obtain 2 or 3 fish collectables per game day to exchange into scrips.

For fisher though gathering helps to catch the fish (but get away probability allways exists), and perception helps to get it hq but also is a good RNG chance involved. With new skill patience probability to get HQ improves (also the probability to get a good collectable item). So with food with extra perception and new skills (some cordials may help).
