Will we ever see Ranger or Samurai?

Same. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm kind of tired of SE's thinking in XIV "Does it have a sword or heavy armor? Then it's a tank!" -.- I'd love to have a sword using or heavy armor wearing melee

I'd like to see red mage soon. Would be nice to have a playable class with a gun-blade as well.

Maybe redmage with gun-blade? :3

That kind of makes it sound like a base class with Shogun being a job it can get with a DPS option job in addition.

I'd put my money on Samurai over Ranger at this point. The storyline appears to be heading toward Ala Mhigo and it wouldn't surprise me if that job becomes a factor along with Monks.

With Gun and Bow covered I'd say not likely on Ranger. Samurai though I'm sure will be one of the next few since people won't shut up about it.

What would be the point of ranger? For all intents and purposes Bard is Ranger - they have all their big classic abilities like sidewinder etc. I don't think it would be very unique even if you spun it off of archer, same thing with thief - their big abilities are already in other jobs.

I say this as someone who really wishes they had just made it Ranger and saved bard for one of these instant 30 job only ones focused more on support. But there is no support in the game so I guess this will have to do.

I'm sure samurai will come eventually - I personally don't care if its a tank or dps. I think it could work either way.

I'd really like some more DoM, maybe a Red Mage magic tank with some enspells/spikes. I'd kill for blue mage, but after all they've said I'm not sure they're creative enough to implement it well.

They've already talked about Samurai saying that they choose Dark Knight over it. So, if it was out now it would've been a tank, but Yoshi even said that he sees it more as a DPS. For the Ranger, I don't know, it feels much like a Bard without songs XD

That said right now we have 3 tank 3 healers 2 ranged/supporter, 2 casters (and the SMN is a weird hybrid DoT/Pet/AoE class now) and 3 melee. What we need are a non supporter ranged and a caster more than another melee.

Ranger? Probs not
Samurai? Possibly

Then again, I was completely and utterly wrong about what summons we'd see as primals

My friend and I were talking about which FF summons would be good primals, he said something like "Man Knights of the Round would be so cool" and I responded with "That's like the ONE summon that won't be a primal cmon man" and well we all see how that turned out

Or something unique. Like "Coercer"
