Does Raw Intuition need to lose the negative effect?

This post is stupid. The crit heals were a bugged, Raw Intuition was explained ages on how it works. It was never meant to crit heals and it was always meant to take crit damage from the flank and the back.

If you are getting hit from the flank when tanking and using RI you are doing something wrong.

RI isn't the equivalent of Rampart. Its the equivalent of Bulwark and Dark Dance.

Plus its a buff designed for boss fights not trash pulls.

If you're tanking 3 enemies and you attack one of the enemies on the side, then you'll be facing that one. Then the enemy on the other side, and possibly the middle enemy, will be hitting your flank even though it visually looks mostly like your front. That's the problem. You could turn off auto-facing when using a weaponskill, but that's not fun. :(

Anyway, that's not really the point. The point is that the risk is too high. I don't care if they retain the mechanic of parrying from only the front, but being auto-crit from the flank sounds stupid to me. However, I would warn people from comparing it to Rampart. Different Jobs are different, and they shouldn't have carbon copies of ability sets. Paladin has Rampart but not Inner Beast, for example. If they must keep the stupidly high risk of this ability, then I think it should also make each parry generate one stack of Wrath/Abandon.

If it really is an ability primarily for single target fights like bosses, then okay. I disagree with that design, but I understand. Certainly something's going very wrong if you're getting hit from the flank often there.

Raw intuition should be changed to; "Reduces damage taken from the front by 20%" not parry abilities that are parryable from the front.
It's a waste when warriors only get parry as mitigation with a high level skill.
Paladins on the other hand get rampart: Reduce damage taken by 20% at level 5 or so. This will stack with any attacks blocked or parried as well.

Combined with the downside of getting crit by everything even non parryable attacks it sucks and it's not fun.

The duration could just be reduced and the crits removed. I'd still take rampart any day over raw intuition : (

How about you ask for something making you more unique. Like parries allow you to attack them. I would love Ripostes.

I think the skill is fine. It's our equivalent of Bullwark only its a 100% rate and a risk involved. We have Inner Beast / Vengence / Equilibrium / Thrill of Battle / to deal with magic damage (or unblockable stuff). If we had another "reduce damage taken" cooldown our class would start becoming a bit more homogenized (my opinion) and that's no fun!

@Nektulos-Tuor Vengence already deals damage back to the targets that attack us.

There is also the issue in that, when using it, you need to be targetting an enemy in the middle of a pack of foes, or else you'll be crit heavily. The skill has little to do with skillful use. Since front is a cone, enemies can and will crit the hell out of you even if they seem to be right in front, because if they are just a little to the side, if you are targetting one that isnt in the middle of a pack, they will crit you. There is way to much trade off for this skill. I feel its almost just useful for the extra stack of wrath/abandon.

I want aware that shelton had the bonus effect "Take extra magic damage during use". The issue here is that it has this big negative tacked on which makes it far less useful. On large packs its suicide to use, on small packs its usefulness plumets.

Warrior has always been the high risk/high reward tank. Raw Intuition fits the class perfectly. It's a high skill cap tank. Warrior can do everything a Paladin can it just takes more work and timing. In every Coil I would learn content as Paladin to make it easier on my healers and once I had the rotations down I would swap to Warrior and achieve the same results with more utility and damage.

I plan on doing DRK/WAR for Heavensward. I still believe Inner Beast is hands down the best defensive cooldown in the game given that it can be used approximately every 20s for 6s of 20% damage reduction. Paladin has Rampart/Sentinel for flat reduction. Bulwark is still RNG even if it gets you to 90% block there is still a 10% chance you take a full hit. Sheltron is pretty nice, but I've talked to a few FC Paladins who complain it gets eaten by an auto attack instead of what they are trying to block. But beyond Sheltron Paladin will still have gaps in their mitigation like before. It was always terrifying in Turn 5 right around the transition into the last phase when you had zero cooldowns up for Death Sentence. Rampart was always around 15s left on the cooldown and you're just screaming in Teamspeak for Adlo/Stoneskin/Virus.
