Nym, Amdapor, and Mhachi?

Don't get me wrong I want the secrets of the Allagan revealed as much as anybody. But can we please focus on some other civilization for a few patches? I want to know 4th umbral to 5th Astral History and get a good explanation for why the 6th Umbral Era occurred. (Besides The Ascians <Insert Meme Here>)

The Allagan have had way to much screen time imo considering they are all but extinct. We even found out one of (And possibly all of) the beast tribes were made by them. We know most of the Chimeric beasts are of their making. I've even considered the possibility that they made Malbors and Ochus through genetic engineering. What's next? Did the make the moogles too?

Even if they are an all encompassing ancient civilization they are almost as much of, if not more of, a cop out than "The Ascians did it" when it comes to screenwriting. Lets try and find the truth of Pre-Allag and the History of The War of the Magi, and the origin of the 1st Umbral Era. There's so much more that could be explored with out going "Oh, the Allagan made it".

Mhachi seems to be our missing city. I remember a thread about the War of the Magi not so long ago asking about the cities involved mentioning Nym and Amdapor and asking about the third city.

We stil have a lot of mysteries involving the past Umbral Eras and I think we only know what we know about the Third Astral and Fourth Umbral Eras are because Allags were everywhere during 2.x level 50 questlines, and I think they will not disapear so soon based on some of the content of 3.0 and the fact that our battle currency will still be Allagan Tomestones. I hope they start fading away to give space for other tales of the a past Eorzea. Allagan Empire are everywhere just like Greco-Roman culture is still found inside our society today, they made a huge impact on Eorzea and the Calamity that brought us to the Seventh Umbral era is Allagan related.

The Sixth Umbral era was the closest era to the era Eorzea currently lives. Thats why I think we should have more lore about it.

We really should remake/update the Eorzean timeline thread with all these new events

It's also interesting that CNJ/THM existed during Allagan Empire as seen with the cloned/mannequin THM/CNJ in Fractal Continuum and Aetherochemical Research Facility

It was always said that during the Age of Frost Thaumaturgy was more or less invented which eventually gave rise to Black Magic.

The Age of Frost was the 5th Umbral Era right? The Ice Age that brought most of the Spoken Races to Eorzea?

Yes it was the 5th Umbral Era: Age of Ice.

I suppose it shouldn't be a surprise that the Allagans had THM/CNJ in their ranks. But it's still a nice way to confirm that such schools are much much older than we previously thought.

Rather than just simply say ___ mage like other antagonist. They specifically mention CNJ/THM. Of course the also had PGL and NINs, but thats different

I think back in early 2.xx one of the quests mentioned Magic being Rediscovered in the 6th Astral Era. That implies The 5th Astral Era was the former height of magic before it kinda self destructed in the War of the Magi. Since the Allagan were 3rd Astral Era and were predominantly Technology based I'd say it's safe to assume that Magic's great advancements probably happened between the 4th umbral era and the 5th Astral Era. So approximately the same time for magic to advance as Allagan's technology had between the 1st Umbral era and 3rd Astral Era.

Long Story short, I don't think the Allagan relied on Magic but I'd wager they had some Idea of how it worked and used similar levels of Cnj and Thm as we use. Think Cnj,Thm, and Arc as Basic Magic and Whm, Blm, Sum, and Sch being High Magics. With Summoning being an invention of the Allagan them selves.

I believe The War of the Magi will be main plot driver of the 4.0 plot. For now, they are just getting things in place.

Speaking of.. Nym was a nation of lalafell?

Yeup, which somewhat explains why most tonberries are so short, and why the two tonberries you meet in the SCHs two stories are both named in Lalafell fashion. Further, tonberrism is a disease wrought by a voidsent that was summoned by the "void mages" of Mhach. Not certain if the Tonnberries are Roegadyn or just odd tonberries, but it'd be nice to find out.
