    Nym, Amdapor, and Mhachi?

So during the first Astrologian quest, someone questions Jannequinard's sanity of using Sharlayan astrolomancy and lists the Nymians, the Amdapori, and the Mhachi as, presumably, examples of civilizations that have used magics they weren't prepared for and brought about their own ruin. But who are the Mhachi? Are they the missing third civilization from the War of the Magi? Has anyone seen this name elsewhere in the game?

We were just chatting about this in the Belah'dia thread. Mhach does indeed appear to be our missing city, as the Mhachi are referred to as being "void mages". This is made quite clear in the Scholar storyline, as well, where Surito Carito himself suspects Belah'dia was founded by remnants of Mhach. Seeing the name spread across all the job scenarios, it's little wonder why SE has been tight-lipped about it. Wouldn't want to spoil some of the fun of digging into the 3.0 job quests, yeah? Or what they could foreshadow...

Another thing, the tonberry plague was caused by lalafellian agents serving the Mhach.

Well that's really interesting! I haven't done the Scholar quests yet, but I'll have to do them now to hear more about them. Wonder what else SE is hiding about these Mhachi...

It very much seems The Mhachi were the enigmatic third faction of The War of the Magi.

And after so much mystery and silence in regards to them as the possible "Proto-Beladians" that have been discussed for so long leads me to believe we may be uncovering the truth about that war and it's consequences too.

It seems Nym was brought down by the, now called, Toneberry Plague which was brought to their city by Mhachi spies. And we know Diablos, The "King Amongst Voidsent", was unleashed on Amdapor by it's enemies. So since they had spies and favored Garlean Style infiltration, I'd say it's likely they are responsible for unleashing Diablos on the Amdapori as well.

It seems highly likely that they were the third faction, though I'm not certain they were the Proto-Bela'dians. Surito Carito mentions that Bela'dia may have been the Mhachi's inherritors to void magic, but he doesn't mention or speculate them being related outside of that.

I have a feeling we'll soon be diving into a lot of 5th and 6th astral Era history. We still have a lot of Bela'dian and Gelmoran locations to explore, there are Nym and Amdapor's secrets that still haven't been fully explained, as well as the proverbial "Lore Bitch Slap" of dropping The Mhachi's names with little to no explanation. Personally I hope after we destroy/reseal the warring triad and smash Omega that it'll be the last we hear of The Allagan Empire. I'm getting rather sick of those guys being the frickin Halo Forerunners of Eorzia and being responsible for nearly everything that's not an Ascian Machination. Which even most of their stuff is.

The reason why "everything" is about the allags is beause thats what is it. On the 3rd era an empire started and almost conquered the hole war, with their high super futuristic tecnology, if we would be on thise times lol we could think is rather the future than the past xD
My point is that the allagans wiped out everything related to the eras before them. They practicaly changed the course of destiny of the planet, cant image what would the world may be if the allags have never been to exist or that they wouldnt havent perish.
A clear example on this, do we know of any ancient civilisation before the allags? there you have the answer on why it is almost all allag related xD
