AMD 6990 with Catalyst drivers 14.501 here.
DX11 random crashes before I can even get into the game. Watching the CG movie cutscenes? Crash. In a wait queue? Crash. In configuration? Crash.
No errors. No warnings. Suddenly black screen and then desktop.
Heck I'm not even getting BSODs.
This was happening before installing the expansion too. While I was having issues with connections and crashing, I bought the expansion, installed it, launched, and still had the same issues. So the expansion installation itself is not the issue. Its the newest update.
Game's been rock solid on DX9 mode for me. Tried out DX11 mode, crashed randomly twice. No black screen, game just soft crashes and boots me to the desktop. Once it went quite a while before it happened (over an hour), 2nd time it was barely 5 minutes. Radeon R9 285, omega 14.12 drivers. Definitely something wrong with DX11 stability, though it probably doesn't help that AMD hasn't had an official driver update for the R9 series in over 6 months now. Given the login headaches right now, I'll just settle for playing on DX9 mode. It's just as well, I can run on max settings on DX9 mode with constant 60FPS while I only get ~40ish on DX11 mode unless I drop down to laptop - high config.
I also have a gtx970. I crashed 2 times in the last 2 days.
It restarts my whole pc.
One time while talking to an npc and another when i tele to gridania
Two 980 ti in sli and I get some really weird graphic glitches with dx11. It seems like resources just aren't loading. Characters will have solid black armor like the game isn't loading the meshes. My character was bald once. It didn't display the helmet that I had on and instead made my character bald with a deformed head. I tried taking screenshots, but it didn't save them for some reason. There were parts of the land not loading and huge black and red streaks across my screen. It is basically unplayable with dx11.

Only happens with dx11. The dx9 client works just like it did before.
I have a gtx670.And apart from dual monitor wrong handling , I haven't seen a crash till now(apart from severe fps drop on the dx11 should be better not worse than dx9).From what I am reading and wild guessing this is a driver problem. And probably the client will need some tweaking as well.I hope we are going to have some updates soon enough.
Same issue on Radeon R9 285. Latest radeon drivers were released in december, so I dont know what to do. My dx11 is updated, using win 7 ultimate 64-bit.
Yeah so seems 600 series works fine :) no issues on 680 here, wonder what it can be that causes the malfunction on the 900 series. If they had some proper crash reporting where ppl could automatically send them crash reports might be easier for them to figure out.
Still no info?
DX11 client is physically making my computer restart once my character loads into the game. I’m freaking out thinking my power supply or computer components are junking out but this only happens on the DX11 client and not the DX9 client. I have also tested many other high demanding games & benchmarks and it does not make my computer reset. I’m very computer savvy it’s not my computer overheating or not getting enough power. Big issue that needs to be fixed. Think problem is most related to the GPUs. Seems to happen almost instantly if GPU is overclocked but lasts a few minutes if not. Ruled out other components too I’m 99.9% sure it’s GPU/driver/DX11 client related.
