They never do pass though, been years for FarmVille and its growing and practically printing money lol. Angry Birds doing pretty good too.

Angry Birds is something to do while waiting in the dentists office. It's the last thing any real gamer will play given any real choice

I'm glad I grew up during the RPG golden age. It's going straight to the crapper in the future.

I remember getting FF3 for SNES. I played that game for weeks on end. Probably the best gaming experience I ever will have. Plus, I was a kid so I could play all day without my GF bothering me!

Lol i love this kind of saying, because this is exactly what our parents says during their time. "Our time was the best, it will be crap in the future", stuff evolves overtimes, people need to accepts that or the new generation is going to label us as primitive human being.

The only reason "RPG's" saw any kind of success in the S/NES/PS1 era was due to other genres being so godawfully BAD. Mainly action games. In essence "RPG's" are merely action games with simple gameplay mechanics, so of course they worked rather well for what the hardware could accomplish back then.

Alas, in PS2 and PS3 era action games have come back with a force of thousand suns (with games like DMC, MGS4 and Bayonetta). and as soon as that happened, RPG's became instantly inferior (not all, but most). SE is doing exactly what it should- turning the "RPG's" into what they really are- long cutscene-driven action games. The gameplay is not yet on a sufficient level, but it sure as hell is closer.

It's sad they didn't realize it by the time X was being made.

While Wada urges everyone to think and embrace changes to the gaming community, we have Satoru Iwata saying he will not steer Nintendo in that direction. Hmmm....
