Which class you want in FFXIV from XI Vid

I'd like it too but one major caveat: Change the weapon, or change the name.
Granted since DRK are getting 2h swords, the former is more likely...but it always bugged me that a rune FENCER uses 2 handed swords -_-
I mean I know if you take a more esoteric definition it can make sense but...when most people think "fencer," they think rapiers.
Though if they go with rapiers, i'd prefer it be red mage.

I never play XI so I don't know about the class there.
Is it same with XIV or different?

Bravely Default has the Rune Fencer Job and they wield one-handed swords :). They don't have to take everything word-for-word out of XI, I would like them creating these new Jobs while looking at the other FF games too ^^.

Samurai, we need a DPS class that can dual wield swords.

Nitoryuu is dangerous and impractical, and the only time they ever REALLY did it was with a katana and Wakizashi, and that's if they needed the latter for parrying.

It shouldn't, but samurai's have used two swords before. It's not entirely impossible and i for one can see it happening.

In Type-0, Jack is a Samurai and he has tremendous power while he wields an enormous katana. I haven't played much Samurai from the older FFs and I also don't know it from XI, but it doesn't sound like it would be good for dual wield.

Also, if you want a dual wield DPS why don't you go for Berserker? Raubahn is a dual-wield warrior, so it is likely we will not need to destroy the feeling of Samurai.

The Samurai's shtick in Final Fantasies has always been wielding a sword in two hands.
In XI, their ONLY weapons were two-handed, and they got skills related to two handed weapons. It is, in fact, the one reason DNC/SAM isn't all that viable a job selection, as the DNC dual wields. Yes, their actual set-up makes them INCOMPATIBLE with the dual wielding classes (though SAM/DNC is very good because DNC only has a few skills related to dual wielding). SAM/NIN and NIN/SAM even have the same issue, but this is also due to NIN not having a great selection of Great Katana to choose from.
In Final Fantasy Tactics, they got an ability that allowed them to grip a weapon in two hands for extra damage.
Even in X-2, all 3 girls wield two handed swords.

Add to that, almost all dual wielding, as I mentioned, isn't dual wielding katana, but rather one katana and one shorter weapon such as a wakizashi.
