Seems to work fine for me. Let's see you grit those teeth!
grit
ɡrɪt/
courage and resolve; strength of character.
"I've known few men who could match Maude's grit"
synonyms: courage, courageousness, bravery, pluck, mettle, mettlesomeness, backbone, spirit, strength of character, strength of will, moral fibre, steel, nerve, gameness, valour, fortitude, toughness, hardiness, resolve, determination, resolution; more..
It doesn't sounds so good and would love a more dark/emo/angsty/bloody name but reading the DRK bit of lore it makes a lot of sense:
"The pious Ishgardian clergy guide the flock, and the devout knights protect the weak. Yet even the holiest of men succumb to the darkest of temptations.
None dare to administer justice to these sacrosanct elite residing outside the reach of the law. Who, then, defends the feeble from the transgressions of those meant to guide and protect them? A valiant few take up arms to defend the downtrodden, and not even the holy priests and knights can escape their judgment. Pariahs in their own land, they are known by many as “dark knights.” These sentinels bear no shields declaring their allegiance. Instead, their greatswords act as beacons to guide the meek through darkness."
I think in my mind I had tied in that they would remove corrupt church officials, Inquisitors, and Paladins as the reason I considered them anti-Paladin; they had to be the antithesis to the knights they had to condemn. However, your viewpoint is absolutely valid and I can respect it. I think that if we kept with the spaghetti western theme I would see them as more of the Lone Gunman Vigilante who would dispatch corrupt sheriffs, but there is a degree of grit in that as well.
I'm not sure I still agree with the ability name, but I can respect it a bit more using that theory. Thank you!
Yeah I don't really think they're the sheriffs. Just the Wild West imagery in general is really kinda fitting in a startling way. Thanks for your response, it was extremely heartening to see someone so cheery about other points of view on the forum!
Though I do admit I hope the localization team gives the DRK abilities a good, long look so maybe the name will change!
I sort of feel the same way about the word choice. Oddly the new WAR stance 'Abandon' sounds more appropriate for DRK as far as naming conventions go. Maybe they should swap?
