Is "Grit" a proper name for a DRK ability?

They mentioned in the LL that DRK hasn't gone through localization yet, all the action names could be renamed.

Seems to work fine for me. Let's see you grit those teeth!

It doesn't sounds so good and would love a more dark/emo/angsty/bloody name but reading the DRK bit of lore it makes a lot of sense:

I was under the influence that Dark Knights were something along the lines of Ishgard's black-ops; though perhaps that's just two people interpreting the word "honor" differently.

Dark Knights aren't anti-Paladins.

In fact they're the only thing standing between corrupt church officials/ Inquisitors and innocent people so the Wild West imagery is startlingly appropriate.

I think in my mind I had tied in that they would remove corrupt church officials, Inquisitors, and Paladins as the reason I considered them anti-Paladin; they had to be the antithesis to the knights they had to condemn. However, your viewpoint is absolutely valid and I can respect it. I think that if we kept with the spaghetti western theme I would see them as more of the Lone Gunman Vigilante who would dispatch corrupt sheriffs, but there is a degree of grit in that as well.

I'm not sure I still agree with the ability name, but I can respect it a bit more using that theory. Thank you!

Yeah I don't really think they're the sheriffs. Just the Wild West imagery in general is really kinda fitting in a startling way. Thanks for your response, it was extremely heartening to see someone so cheery about other points of view on the forum!

Though I do admit I hope the localization team gives the DRK abilities a good, long look so maybe the name will change!

I sort of feel the same way about the word choice. Oddly the new WAR stance 'Abandon' sounds more appropriate for DRK as far as naming conventions go. Maybe they should swap?

When I heard "Abandon" I thought the same thing; but I put it in the context of "reckless abandon" (means roughly "without care or regard for consequences".) which is fitting for a warrior, in my opinion.

Abandon is not the stance, it's the stacks you'll be getting while in the stance; the stance's name seems to be "Deliverance", which is very odd considering the Japanese clearly call it "Destroyer".
