Thanks! I will probably end up doing just that! =D

My PC is about 3 years old and i got good scores.
My Specs are GTX 560 Ti, a i7-2600 cpu
and i ran at max settings in borderless windowed at 1920x1080 and got 9177 with directx 9 and 5541 with directx 11
so like others have said its probably not just your card.
I have the same GPU the same amount of RAM and the same CPU and I score 8878 on max settings with 1280x720 resolution. I don't think you need to spend any money unless your card is knackered. I'd check to see if it has underclocked itself too, this isn't so uncommon an occurrence.
how do i see what the fps ect was? not sure where to find that info
that's really weird, i have an i3 and 650gtx and i'm getting up to 3500 at 1080 with everything maxed (dx11 features included) except shadows.
The benchmark must be using the integrated gpu for some reason, got to settings>display tab and check the GPU used.
save your score, it will open a text document with more detailed info, including FPS.
Go into your Nvidia settings and do this: http://i.imgur.com/cQEj3Ij.png Also update your drivers and redo the test. If that doesn't improve your scores it could be that your card is overheating. Take it out, clean it up , dust if off and try again. A lot of times it's really as simple as that. I also recommend using something like EVGA Precision so you can control your fan speed/fan curve. Sometimes these cards fans don't ramp up fast enough to deal with the heat output which causes them to downclock quickly resulting in shitty performance. I prefer to set my own fan curve to always avoid this.
There is something wrong with the scores you are getting.
I use a gtx660ti (slightly better than your gtx660) and I use an i3 which is worse than your i5. On max settings at 1920x1080, I get a 6431 score. What resolution did you use?
Considering your specs are nearly the same as mine (I have a 4 GHz CPU vs your 3.4) there is no way your scores are that abysmal unless as others have stated it is using your integrated graphics for some reason rather than your Nvidia card. That video card should run it just fine.
Ya OP resolved it. If you have geforce experience or latest nvidia drivers I don't think Intel GPU would be selected since they have latest game profiles. I looked at FFXIV game profile yesterday and it has the DX11 executable name added to it.
