Ok, thanks for continuing to call support, I can't do it myself but it's appreciated if anyone else can. Is there a date for the next PSN Store update? Right now that seems like our best bet.
EDIT: The update will be tomorrow.

The same thing is happening to my friend, he has been trying to buy the game (PS3) for more than a week. We already tried today so it wasn't fixed by the store update. SE should look into this, they could potentially loss many sales.
Yeah, I'm not seeing a change yet either, so I kinda doubt the PSN store itself is to blame.
More interesting, if I change to a PSN account on the same system, I don't get this problem anymore. The game is still installed, everything on the console is still the same, it's just a different account, one that doesn't have the "Free Trial" listed under Account Management > Transaction Management > Services List.
Really feeling certain that that's to blame, and if there was a way to delete it or actually make it expire, that would help.
Edit: As an addendum, I tried logging into my primary account on a different PS3 system; this one had never played nor installed the FF14 free trial on any account. I was still unable to purchase the game from the store, or register the code. The "Free Trial" was still listed under my services list.
Pretty sure we need to get rid of that now.
Alright, some considerably good news. Unfortunately you'll have to do a bit of calling, but it works.
Call 800-345-7669. Select the number for a playstation specialist (I think it's 3, all I know is it's from the first listing).
Ask them to remove the license and entitlement from your account. Explain to them, if you need to, that deleting, reformmating, rebuilding, resetting does nothing. It's entirely account based. And the license and entitlement under Account management > Transaction management > Services listed isn't expiring. It didn't refund the "free trial" correctly, and that needs to happen. SE can't do it, it needs to be removed, and it's bugged out/glitching/didn't refund or expire properly.
If they say you can only talk to a supervisor for that, do it. It took me a bit, but he was helpful and realized we were right in our deduction. He "refunded" the trial, an expiration date appeared on the services, and things are golden.
I'd suggest logging out of your account ahead of time. Information you will need; Name, PSN ID, PSN login email.
I warned him that I was advising more people to do this, so maybe it'll go a bit smoother for everyone else.
Kudos goes to zombah23 for finding the solution, we wouldn't be here without them.
^ this gives me hope! I am going to try it and see if it works as well.
If they're resistant, or saying they can't do anything, keep trying. Try other options, if one service isn't helpful or starts hanging up on you. Be persistent, several of us had this fixed already, they can do this for you.

Okay I kinda forgot to reply here but yes, at the moment, calling support and getting them to remove the trial license seems to be the only solution, hopefully this issue will be actually fixed soon so no one else has to go through this.
