MP management is perfect now, no more easy "hit 1 button, spam it and never worry about management" days, though since a lot of people are complaining they have to actually think now, they're probably going to revert it.

i'm sure everyone loves the swimsuits and event music... but i think there are basic things like the party function and things the OP mentioned that should've been done before trivial things

Then people would complain SE ignores the small things. There's no winning with the XIV community. Even the most jaded of XI players gave SE props for Abyssea and getting rid of all the pointless time sinks.

maybe if they ignored the small things and still only made the changes so far accomplished... but if they told the player base.. they we're gonna lay off events to focus on a, b, and c... we'll resume events when the game reaches a point where it is up to par... that i think players would accept and appreciate

Just some added commentary on this:

4 resets in a row now, I've run and taken the ship to LL in hopes of local leves for culinarian guild marks. All 4 resets not a single R20+ leve was offered to me >< Once or twice, fine, my luck is bad. 4 times in a row is plain lame.

I've been doing DoL 40+ leves now for 5+ ranks. There is no question in my mind that the fail rates - either gather nothing or damage the harvested item has been substantially increased for leves. When I grind these same areas I don't fail anywhere even close to the extent I do doing leves here. It's not uncommon at a single node to fail to harvest or damage 3-4 attempts doing the leves. Was this really necessary? ><

I could use a silver alembic for my alchemist now. However, in SE's infinite wisdom or warped sense of humor, the gold dust that drops for this to make the required red lense for the synth drops only from R95 goblins. Are you serious?

I just don't understand. ><

And yet that's one part of the crafting system overhaul, simplification of recipes.

The thing most people fail to take into account when looking at the crafting changes is materia. Tons of gear, both NQ and HQ, will be leaving the system every day due to materia conversion and failed attachment. The changes were necessary for materia and some were necessary for the reason even you stated above.
