How do I get people to join my new FC?

Thanks so much for all of the advice. I see that this is not the time to make a large FC. I should start small and learn the game mechanics with a few people who will help me out.

In Destiny I was there from Day 1 so everybody learned pretty quickly together. I joined two groups before I made my own. The first was always inactive and nobody communicated. The second were very controlling. They told me I had to be online on certain days and times and I wasn't able to do this due to my job. So when I leveled up my character on my own at the times I was online they got mad at me for not doing it when they were on (which is when I wasn't).
They were pushy in many other ways aswell and I didn't like that at all.

When I made my FC I didn't expect it to become large at all. There was a certain type of quest that people were always complaining about being too hard on the forums. So I made the group dedicated to helping people to finish this particular objective. So it was full of friendly and helpful people and I wasn't pushing anybody about. I gathered up a team around me of likeminded people and we flourished. On the PS4 I made chatrooms aswell for people to communicate on the fly since its tricky to communicate within that game.
I went for the end game stuff and got 100% completion of the game. I know all the ins and outs of the fights and classes so I did become an expert in some areas. I was weakest in PvP though.

Clearly, I'm in no position to lead others in this game right now but I'll at least lead a small group of fellow learners. Maybe with a few experienced players who are willing to get me up there so I can be more effective in the future.

To get best long term members try setting up party finder for running dungeons and stuff and just chat with them while running stuff. If they don't have a FC tag you can ask them if they would like to join you.

1. Good people in FC make a good Fc reputation.
2. Help randoms and ask FC members to fill up open spots in parties to do same
3. Answer shouts if someone has questions
4. if you have crafting classes melds for free (no need to charge really) or gearing up Fc members or randoms makes a good pic. If you dont have crafting classes and can afford this maybe a lil gift from marketboard does same.
5. Keep your FC busy and happy your members will do their own part to get friends in ^^
6. Please dont do random invite tactics its annoying, nothing else
7. Recruit via party finder if you feel like it
8. Make yourself shown outside of the game like here on forums... I noticed our Fc growing since I started to try to help people here

Also i second this in some ways but if you are determined to start your own from scratch be aware of the work and responibility own FC brings. Even as only a "council member" of our FC I feel responsible for everything and everyone and try to avoid conflicts of other members.

On the contrary, FCs are usually where newbie players can ask if anyone wants to do something, and expect some help. Generally, people are treated more as equals, and so long as you don't try to be controlling of others you should get along fine.

Of course, this only applies to the kind of FC that would invite newbies. If it's, say, an endgame FC devoted to hunts or PVP, they may be more demanding of your time.

You really should just join an already established FC. Its not like you are thinking it is. Most are social, casual FCs anyways. It will allow you to start meeting people and making friends. This also gives you time to learn the game. And as you progress in the game, it also gives you an opportunity to see what type of player you want to be, and also learn the things you like/dislike about your current FC. This gives you good direction for the kind of FC you want to run. And by that point you have most likely made good friends with like minded individuals in the game that'd be willing to start an FC with you. I can almost guarantee you if you were to start an FC by yourself right now, it'd most likely fail

If you're new to the game, try other FCs first. Just because you had a bad experience in Destiny, doesn't necessarily mean it'll be replicated in the FFXIV, they are 2 totally different games with different communities with little overlap. If anything, understand the social dynamics that may require one to run a Small / Large FC. See how it is on the low end of things. Do the leaders help, do they teach the game, etc. Then when you're more knowledgeable try the waters then.

As for gaining support, be active, be helpful, and stay positive. People enjoy those qualities. You stated somethings about Destiny, some of the qualities will be appreciated here, but dont try to mimic them. Develop them organically with a proper knowledge of the game.
