Speedrunning: Status Buffs and Aggro Management.

He should have been getting aggro on each mob as he was running after clicking off any HoTs, so I'd say this is his fault. If the tank aggros all mobs in one pack, you can still heal him back up and re-stoneskin if necessary before he reaches the next pack without taking aggro.

Special attention to "UNLESS REALLY NECESSARY" and the parts where I even specifically listed the same caveat you did. My sentence didn't for a second suggest that you should use regens at all now did it? During the start of a really big pull should obviously fall under the necessary category. Reading comprehension please.

If the Regen effects are lingering from the previous pull he needs to turn them off before the next pull. If the healer casts Regen on the tank before he starts the next pull, the healer needs to learn to not do that. Divine seal + Regen + Medica II is common practice for WHMs so they can get a maximum number of Holys in before needing to hard cast a heal. Even if the damage is only on the tank.

Honestly I didn't read Tiggy's post like you did they just mentioned don't use it as the pull ends or is about to end. Like the mobs have 5% hp left. I don't think they are saying not to use regen effects at all.

Dosnt matter what happend before/during/after.

The tank took off with the assumption that everyone in the party knew or was willing to even perform a speed run.

"Hi im going to speedrun thru this, is that ok?"

If only more people tried using that once in a while things would be so much nicer.

If the regen was applied in the beginning and the group somehow managed to destroy the mob before the regen/medicaII was done ticking (well dayum that was fast o.O) and he still ran off... he could have a.) clicked it off, b.) waited a few seconds if on the PS. I'm sure not that much time would have been left on the HoTs and the tank appeared to know fully well what would happen.... But he pulled next anyway. In that sense, I'd say thats their own fault. How would the healer know the first mob or so would die that damn fast? A few seconds won't kill a speed run - a wipe will.
Most of my speedpull regens wear off just as the fight is wrapping up or a few steps later (pre-next pull). Now and then I miscalculate how fast things die (and I'll admit to being human), but I've seen good tanks can maintain aggro for the remaining 2 or 3 seconds. I don't usually apply Medica II, though. It's HoT lasts longer than Regen's.
It's a legit practice to plop a regen on to the tank before Holying to cover the bases. How many times was it repeated in how many threads in the Healer forum?

Now if the HoTs were plopped up at the end of the mob's death, or as the tank is running/obviously about to run off, then I'd say it's the healer's fault.

Not using an enmity skill during any sort of mid-pulling is all on the tank. >_>

Tanks facepulling without flashing/etc anything while running through usually frightens me. >.> *Doesn't want to heal till they flash/overpower/something!*

It depends on the quality of the tank, honestly. For any person that says it's a healer's fault, yeah, sometimes it is. But guess what? If you're a decent tank who knows how to keep hate, you'll see the regen on you, the mob will go and you'll overpower/flash/tomahawk/shield lob it to get back its attention. Healers don't care if they get bopped for a regen/medica II but to die because of it shows that the tank themselves have no idea what to do.

If they don't want to deal with the fact that they have to take things back, then they should click it off. The only thing other than that, is that for the healer side, remember that your enmity will be a bit funky at first. Don't heal again until the tank has it back if the mob was pulled off via regen/medica II. There's nothing more annoying or counterproductive than having a mob come at you for a regen and then the tank get it back only for you to cure again and have the mob come on right back.

I don't even pay attention to regens and medicas and stuff when I'm pulling multiple mobs. I just tamahawk or flash everything as I'm running along gathering because it's a good idea. If for whatever reason the mobs fall off me on the way to stopping my path of gathering, I'll stop and run back to grab them all up and cut my gathering short.

As a tank, if my tama or a flash doesn't hold a mob well enough from a tick or two of regen, I'll feel like a failure of a tank.

People have different playstyles. If as a tank you can't deal with people playing differently (like using regens), learn to deal with it. Getting pissy about people not playing exactly the way you want them to not only makes you look like a jerk, but you'll also have a lot less fun.

I play on PS4. No way am I gonna click that pad and fumble around trying to remove that icon while I'm pulling, especially if it's a speed run. Can't assume everyone is a PC player.


With that said, I tomahawk everything or OP if convenient as I'm moving to place them. I myself don't have issues with pulling, just saying you can't expect every tank has an easy time removing regen.
