Crystal Tower raid chain loot needs fixing.

Why not just adopt the WoW model of LFR loot.

When a "chest" is opened, everyone automatically rolls independent of each other against a predefined threshold. If you roll higher, you are guaranteed a piece of gear out of the loot table which your current class can use. If you roll lower, you get some gil. In an extreme cases all 8 players can each get a piece out of the same chest, or all 8 get only gil.

It does mean that you can no longer get those unwanted pieces for your other classes, but from my experience in the WoW LFR, I rather like this trade-off.

I think you are confusing fun with relief. The relief that no matter how well you played and how much you contributed to the game you can finally stop doing this dungeon for this week and move on to others..

Just got my 39th run in WoD, only tank pieces I've seen drop are boots, which I have, and gloves, which I don't need. But that healer chest, and nin chest, or the demon calibre of striking, or the maiming circlet drop almost every run. I've seen the maiming circlet 4 runs in a row. Something with the loot system needs to change, in coil, the only piece I got before they opened it up to df was the HA fending headpiece after 2 months, but I geared up my blm just fine, hardly ever use it though.

The only thing that this game seems to make you do is grind endlessly, with such dismal progress that you don't even notice it. I mean, really, 2 months for 1 drop? It's stupid how bad the loot system currently is.

I think I seen all but the bard chest drop so far (My good bard friend i feel for you D: ) and I just recommend to NOT go for a single piece make it a 1/3 minimum and if you cannot get within 10 runs max grab whatever is an upgrade/glamour for offclasses.
I actually gear my sch with those lovely crits on WoD gear. Was first week lucky on my last minute run got gloves, last week friend passed skirt for me and this week just grabbed the healchest even if i wasnt after it. Its a nice glamour and a lil upgrade for my whm <3

Others like what? Spamming the same primal fight 100 times for the mounts? XD.

One game I played had a pretty good system for end game/raid gear. It was a semi token system. Tokens were used but obtained and used in two different ways. One raid only dropped Shoulder, head, and body Tokens. Also dropped a crafting item to make an excellent back piece. The other raid "dropped" access. There were five tiers/levels...what have you, that had to be beaten (in FFXIV's case as an example, defeat FCoB T1) to obtain a piece of that raid gear. Just defeating it however did not grant you the piece, you also needed to amass "currency" (such as our poetics) to purchase it. So it didn't matter if you farmed the hell outta the currency and were rich with it, if you did not defeat the raid to unlock access to the pieces you couldn't not buy them. Granted with our community that does not hinder the run purchasers one iota, but it would, IMO give a slightly more accomplished "feeling" to the players. To go week on week, month on month at times with no drop from an endgame raid, all the while being a winner with no reward is more than frustrating, insulting might be a good way to put it.

Things do need an adjustment, but we DO NOT NEED HANDOUTS.

We already have a token systems, tomes let you choose a piece of gear every week. If i had to use a token system to gear alt jobs in WoD I probably wouldn't even bother. Tokens just end up with everyone having the same exact gear.

well wod is always like 2 pieces of Bard gear EVERY run, so yeah it is painful.
Last week it had taken me a full week for nin chest, and this week for blm hat it is looking to be about the same.
I do remember the original Crystal Tower it was the same thing, always Bard or monk gear, it had taken me approximately 80 runs for the crimson hat

And that's a problem because...? Some WoD gear is pretty darn good for Final Coil, especially when the loot you want from Final Coil doesn't drop.

If the dungeons/raids whatever would recognize what's currently in play and the drops would be based on that, it would be WORLDS better. Rather than running said whatever instance/raid to see BRD stuff dropping and there has not been a BRD around for the past several runs...

And before someone starts with "Well I like the option of collecting gear for my other classes I have not leveled or will be leveling" I say to you: Play the class and pick up these items when they drop based on the team recognition/make-up...
