Was right in the middle of doing the Firefall Faire again, and got ANOTHER BSOD that was after a random program crash during changing gear. So 2 different crashes within an hour of each other.
BSOD was an "IRQ_Not_LESS_OR_EQUAL" error this time.
This was with a clean install of 280.26 drivers.
>:(
ugh. I'm about to fucking give up.
-
ripped out my 460 and stuck in an old 8600 GT.
Been playing for an hour, completed the firefall faire once and a quest with no crashes.
But this is what I have to make it look like to be playable.
>:X

Gonna keep going to see if it will crash at some point.
*Also, another clean install of 280.26 for the 8600*

Sounds like your 460 is a case for the warranty. You should get it replaced or at least repaired. Broken (video) RAM is not a rare issue.
-
yeah well that's a problem. Because I bought this card second hand in February.
I tried registering it, but it had appeared that it had already been registered.
:/
So, if that turns out to be the case. I'll have to sell it for the cheap as busted.
Card is in great shape too, i've changed the TIM, cleaned nearly every nook and cranny of the card with isopropyl alcohol and even gave it 2 isopropyl baths when I was having issues before.(Would crash with anything even at stock, the baths fixed those issues and FFXIV and the odd youtube video seemed to be the only things to bring out what was really wrong with it), physically as well. Shame that it's probably borked.
-
oh now this is weird.
I thought when I tried to register my card before It said it was invalid.
I thought I would try again for the hell of it and it worked. >:0
Now I can RMA it I think

Okay, after 2 days of playing for long periods of time on the 8600 I had 0 program crashed nor BSOD/Computer lockups.
So I threw in a GTS 450 from my brother's PC that I KNOW is fine because he gets 0 issues on his PC.
Ok, Forgot I still had OC profiles for that card on my PC so My initial run was with it OC'd. I got a program crash within a few minutes.
I go through the process of rebooting and all that junk.
Start over again with 0 OC.
I get through 2 runs of the Firefall Faire and as I am about to start repairing something my whole PC FREEZES. No BSOD, just a frozen screen and a loud BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzT sound.
So, NOW I am thinking it HAS to be my PSU.
Because the 8600 requires 0 PCIE connectors and is powered off the PCIE Bus on the Mobo.
The GTX 460 requires 2.
And the GTS 450 requires 1.
Both cards that require a PCIE connector have crashed and have had severe stability issues even though 1 has 0 issues on another PC. (can't test the 460 on that PC because it doesn't have a PSU capable of powering it. Only 1 PCIE connector)
-
You should get your PSU tested then. That's why I always have an alternate PSU ready in case my current one breaks (which happens at least once every 2 years). Exchanging them is a pest though... especially if they are watercooled ~.~
-
ha, I wish I had the money for backups.
But yeah, I don't really have a multimeter or anything so, my best bet is to contact Corsair and see if they will RMA it, since I just bought it new around last Dec
-
My life became so much easier since I bought this PSU-tester... :P
-
i keep crashing too ever since the last update
