Game is randomly crashing while in the middle of Levequest/Events Constantly!

    It's REALLY ANNOYING.
It's happened twice in the last 36 hours to me, once while doing a Levequest (BZZT, FAILED, Now I have to wait/go all the way back to get it so I can do it again) And a second time just now while trying to do the Firefall Faire event >
My GPU Temps are only getting as high as 68c!

I Can run a game like Lost Planet 1 for over 12 hours straight with no crashes.
Also my log file, so I can show that it's the game's fault and not drivers.

I don't seem to get crashes like this in other games, I ran the Lost Planet Colonies Benchmark for over 12 hours straight with no crashes after I just did a clean install of Windows 7 This past week.

Arg. I've also gotten a 0x0000007e BSOD while playing FFXIV last night too.
I only ever get crashes/issues with FFXIV or rather something GPU intensive.
Has my GPU just gone bad, or I dunno. Ever since I installed a 8800GTS640 as a physX card to do some benches and then made that the primary display device(it then started to crash a lot and the 8800 all of a sudden went bad, when you turn the PC on it has artifacting, which was extremely ODD because it hadn't been used since I pulled it out of this system in Janurary), i've been having nothing but problems with my 460.

I've also MEMTEST86+ tested my RAM for 15+ hours with not a single error.

I don't know how, but after a clean install of windows 7 and updating it the "Windows Time Service" has disappeared even though it was present after the install. Now when I go to synchronize the time to an internet server I get an "unable to continue, you do not have permission to perform this task" error. Even though I have ownership over every single file on my HDD's"

I see MSI on there. Are you overclocking? FFXIV doesn't handle it well at all, so I would suggest turning it off (there are other reasons why overclocking is bad, but i'll save my soapbox for another day). Also, what are your game's graphics settings at?

My overclock is proven stable though. FFXIV is the only thing that would have issues.
I played Crysis 2 MP for months on Max with a way higher overclock than what i'm using now and I had 0 issues with that.
    *sigh* Anyways.

I get great framerates with these settings. It plays near perfect.

I get around 6700+ on the benchmark too.

Personal experience. Memtest86+ did not show any error. But FFXIV keeps crashing for me (even at stock settings), once I changed most of the RAM timing to 9 ( My ram suppose to be on 8 ), I haven't been crashing a single time since, not even once, even running around the world

I had a huge problem with crashing when I started, with some research I found out MSAA prevents it
Ive yet to crash running 2XMSAA (2 days now)
I have however crashed running 4XMSAA

Mite be coincidence but try changing to 2XMSAA

ugh, it's hard to tell. And man why is this so god damn finicky?!
    I love playing this game

My ram speeds are 8-8-8-24-1N (stock is 9 with 1N)
But no other programs have issues with it. I've ran programs using 3GB+ of memory without issue.

I suppose I could try using 2XMSAA and see if that does anything. And if it doesn't I guess I can try my RAM timings higher too

I'm going through Microsoft support now too for the 0x0000007E BSOD I got the other night while playing too. So I'll post on how that goes as well

The difference is that FF14 is poorly coded. The short of the long is that overclocking causes data to be lost. Normally, this just means that the processor has to re-calculate X number instructions, but you end up with an overall performance increase because the added speed makes up for the lost data and recalculations. FF14 however, being poorly coded/optimized does not handle that lost data well at all, and can crash. Not all people experience this problem - it depends on your card, how much its overclocked, how the chip is flawed (every chip is flawed; thats why some are rated at X speed and some Y speed even though they came off the same line). I would suggest turning off all your overclocking and least test to see if you have the issues with FF14 while its off. If it works, you know the cause. If it doesn't, you should be fine obviously.

Running the game with 0 overclock(Stock Speeds) did jack.
After about 2/3 hours *BZZT* crash.

Really curious though, stock speed means including RAM timing at 9 as well ? How about the 2xMSAA ? For me, it didn't help though... I can pretty much set any config on FFXIV now and it runs perfectly fine.

Just to add, during my time of crashes, it can be random fault modules. One thing for sure it wasn't any one of those having problems.

Stock speeds for Video Card only.
Shoulda mentioned that. And it was still at 4xmsaa
    I forgot to change that.

Edit: Meh, all I could get out of support from microsoft's widows 7 forums was that my BSOD is caused by Nvidia drivers and that I should get support from them.

I'm getting sick of all this really.
I can't upgrade my drivers to 280.19-26 because they cause Idle temps to rise a ton, crash just from browsing the internet and have BSOD problems of their own.

And at this point i'm almost just thinking my card has gone bad.
I got a BSOD last night just from watching Youtube videos. (Which uses GPU acceleration I believe)
    *SIGH*
