That FC is not worth your time or effort it would seem. I level my PLD to 50 originally for the purpose of making sure people can not force others to skip cutscenes. I would round up my FC friend also tank and we'd make sure the FC member doing Prae for the first time is guaranteed to see the cut scenes. Alternatively, sometimes I'd go using my healer if my healer friend it on. Nothing is going to happen but people wiping themselve if you hold the cards for either 2 tanks or 2 healers. If they try vote kick, then we all leave and DF again, they will be the ones stuck waiting.

You know what, not once did people try to vote kick any one of the 3 of us. And if people start verbally harassing the new player, we tell them to cut that out or we will report them to the GM. Sometimes they leave, but DPS are quick to replace. Never actually had to exercise the power to vote kick one of the those speed runner trouble makers running their mouths. More often than not, a lot the non-1st-timers actually appreciate getting to experience Prae as it should be with all the story elements and we get commendations all around.

1/ How did you get 5 dps (4 BLM + 1 DRG) in an 8 man party? You made a whole preformed party from FC members?

2/ If you were in a fully FC team, why the hell would the tank pull stuff non stop and not wait for the poor guy (especially since you said you all agreed to waiting for him during cutscenes, even though you can watch them in the Inn)

Nobody waits for the new guy to watch cutscenes. I know people didn't wait for me (I skipped all cutscenes since Lv.5 anyway since 98% of them were boring as fuck, only MMO worth not skipping cutscenes was SWTOR).

And people never wait for the newcomer in Praetorium / Castrum.

Why? Cause you can do this duty with 1 tank 1 heal 2 dps all in lv50 gear or even naked. People who end up in those just care about their tomestones.

I'd clean up the FC if I had the privileges. If I were the newguy I'd probably leave the place altogether. There is no points in having FC mates if they're on par or worse than the random guy in DF.

This is a chat long I took from 2.0, just a couple of weeks after the game launched where most people doing Castrum Meridianum were first timers.

People are only gonna be worse now that it's been a while since it came out.

Um... so when we discuss something beforehand, going against it should be an act punishable by death or something to make sure people don't go against it? It's the most basic manners and respect, imo, I mean if they don't like what we discuss, they can disagree and leave. Nobody was forced to be there.

1 tank + 1 heal + new guy (also BLM but not overgeared, hence not in that group) + 5 overgeared DPS = full party. No role restrictions apply when you sign up for duty with a fully preformed party.

And yeah, that is the question/issue I have.

OP either needs a new FC that matches his playstyle or the tank does...

My FC always suggests members watch cutscenes during the runs if it is thier first time. And we stick to it but that's because we've recruited like minded players which always helps.

I can't wait for the drama, I still need to do my first Castrum run. Though I believe I will be doing it with a preformed party. Bribing people from my server for the bonus shouldn't be top hard. Though I almost want to go full DF just to see the drama that may ensue. With my other thread going about no one talking in DF dungeons, maybe this one is what I need.

So that's how people in group finder manage to form parties of 1 tank 1 heal 6 dps for some extreme primals farm.

I don't understand why you would have one jerk (a tank) be able to force people to do or not to do what they want/ don't want.

I do tank a lot in duty finder and if there is a newbie who wants to watch cutscenes then I'll let him do so. I don't care about cutscenes but I know some love the lore and the (supposedly) superb written storyline (lol).

Next time you make a newbie run, I'd advice having someone you can trust as a tank (or 2 tanks) that way you ensure no early pulls (let them die if they try to early pull) and let the dude read his cutscenes.

I skipped cutscenes in there my first time, because I'm not so self-centered that wasting the time of 7 other people is somehow ok just so I can watch a cs that can be easily rewatched later after the run in the inn.

Seriously, get over yourself, and either choose to skip the cs or miss out on the fight. It was stupid of SE to put so many cutscenes inside a dungeon, but that doesn't mean your time is somehow more valuable than the rest of the party.
