Have fun waiting to sell when the first listing of an item is 999,999,999 gil.

If you're being undercut, then you were overcharging for that item anyway. If you truly weren't (but most of the time you were), then the undercuter is an idiot. Buy his item, sell it at your price and profit.
But truly, most of the time it's just crafters being a$$ with their prices and overpricing like hell.
Best example I could give would be the armoire in early 2.4.
Starting price : 4-5m, when the components were for 400-500k for all. After 2 weeks or so, the armoire was back at a normal price, around 600-700k
So, you want impose your will on everyone and have people only be able to sell at the price you feel comfortable with?
How noble of you, to save us all from the pain of making our own decisions...
@_@
"Good undercutting practices"?
As opposed to what, the kind of undercutting YOU don't like?
It amazes me that you are openly stating that you want the developer to implement a system to protect your GREED.
Simply, YOU have no business determining MY prices.
To think otherwise is absurd.
Be happy I'm not on your server, I'd eat you for breakfast.
Everything you are saying makes perfect sense except for the fact that RMTers pay moronic prices for items and SE doesn't actually do anything about them.
There is also the issue of people who have made enough gil that they can sell at a loss. I've seen people selling things for less money than the going market price for the mats required to make them because they can.
usually, that means they gathered at least part of the materials themselves to cut the prices down. Best example being Kirimu gear on Cerberus. People farm the leather in T4 to halve their crafting prices then put the finalized product with a reasonable profit. The final price is about 80-90% of the NQ materials price for a HQ gear, but the crafter still made about 30-40% profit out of it.
If you don't like it, start gathering your own mats. There is nothing more you can do
Then you stash your over-priced stuff in your inventory and sell it later. Or let it ride till the market "recovers". As long as there is someone, anyone, willing to sell their junk at a loss, you "retailers" will be up the creek. Selling stuff on the MB is a gamble. If someone undercuts me by more than 40%, I buy it and resell it. It's simple capitalism; buy/build low, sell high.
Get over yourselves. Bestbuy isn't the best buy. They stay in business because the consumer can find the item they want conveniently and easily. You sell at retail. You are Bestbuy.
Don't please don't. There's already too much tax. I don't want more taxes. Do you work for IRS?
Why do you always assume that the richest players are RMTers?
Well if somebody can get it cheaper then it's not as rare as you thought.
I have no problem with primal hq weapons being around 100k each, I'd buy it and sell it for 1mil.
I can see how people get annoyed with the undercutting. Like someone mentioned before there are ways SE can help the marketboard.
Personally the only time I undercut in ways the OP are talking is if the item before me has not been selling for days and Im trying to get rid of it. Or sometimes im in that cheerful mood and give some of the new crafters a chance to get something really cheap to help them out. And when I do the later I dont list a bunch of items its usually just one, because of the obvious.
But the way some people undercut. They dont even make a profit, all they are doing is breaking even or losing money. Because of rediculous amounts of undercutting Mastercraft demis were down to 215k before lol.. I also think people honestly dont even look before placing stuff up /shrug
I just hate when you buy something and end up not needing it or buying it by mistake you go to resell for the same price like I bought something for 250k put it back up for same price and next thing I know ppl are selling it for cheaper so I have to drop my price to sell now that item is going for 185k so I lose like 80k while no one buys and the price keeps dropin.
I just hate there are some items these ppl are selling for 4 to 10 mill like reg ppl have this kind of money that's why there are all these gill sellers out there because ppl have to buy gil just to buy items in game it would take month to try and save it took me a full year to finally save up a mil in gil and that's gone just refitting my nin
