The thing is that without elemental bonuses, a lot of the reason to have more than two or three is lost. I know SE doesn't want to make the wheel meaningful for players in order to avoid making some jobs worthless on X fight, but maybe they could put it into effect for just the Egis? All elements in one job, therefore no imbalance in usability, and you'd have the option of using one that you think would give better utility(Contagion, for example) or going with the one that beats the element of the monster you're fighting.
