While I don't think I'd mind some Shantotto content in XIV again, I'd prefer to see her as a Tarutaru, not a Lalafell. Since they are, technically, different species.

If they made a Shantotto mini expansion, I wouldn't just not play it, I'd unsub. She's been rammed down my throat these last 7 years, I am NOT going to put up with her crap again.

I've been playing XI since 2006 (and still do) and honestly don't really get the frenzy over Shantotto, I'm not even sure why she got a place in Dyssidia or let alone her own add-on mini-expansion. There's so many more charismatic characters in that game. I don't think she should earn her own expansion on XIV, buuuuut another event, sure why not?

My only request is that the next time, instead of a crappy minion, we get rewarded with the Race Starting Equipment from FFXI instead. Just imagine those male Miqo'tes in the Mithran loincloth...

The soulstone is definitely named after her. It might not be the same name, but it's kind of silly to act as though it's all a coincidence. And she was in Dissidia because, at least as far as I recall, that was who the people from XI suggested. They were looking for someone from XI to add, and she was suggested because she's immensely popular.

I would definitely not really for gear but just for a decent mini storyline as we wait for expansion day. I honestly think it would be fun but if she ever came back to Eorzea please SE will it kill you to give her a updated look and get rid of the dated graphics from ff11!

Agreed. Shantotto when first introduced was a troublesome crone that sort of helped the story along (Windurst story). That was fine because she was sort of comparable to the witch Matoya (sans the dragon boyfriend or the revelation of where earthquakes come from). I didn't have an issue with her until she was crowbarred into more storylines and then turned into the queen bitch of black magic.

Fanservice, yes. But they change them to fit the world.
So Shantoto would be a Ul'dah Lalafell and a republican or royalist.
