I want, I want, I want, I want!!!! Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme!!!
I want to meet the developers. I'm excited for it and hope it'll work out (being a vacation I haven't had in over four years). I'm terrified EventBrite will uber-fail come time for upgrades though. What's worse would be if only one of us in my party could get upgraded.
Since this is my first vacation in years, I want to go as all out as I can. I wish they were offered during the original ticket sales, now it's a second roulette.
This is what has me thinking it might not be worth the hassle/risk. While there's only 2 tickets for me to fuss over, it seems from the FAQ that the process to upgrade must be completed on one at a time. The link they show appears on the individual admissions. I have no doubt that in the time it takes to go through one, they will all be sold out. So, if you are lucky enough to land one for yourself, odds are everyone that's going with you will be out of luck. It would make a fun vacation much less so if that vip badge meant spending most of the events separated.
To add to that, based on the initial mess, I can imagine a worst case scenario where you lose the tickets you have in the process of upgrading since its technically a transfer. Not worth it, I think. Bird in hand and all that...
There is a simple way to fix this for me though. That is to just.. let me get the upgrades done first!
Nope.

I am also concerned about the system itself, because of what happened with the initial round of tickets... and thousands were available at that time! That said, only those of us with tickets can even log in or access the system, and only a percentage of those people will be trying to do the upgrade. So, the congestion SHOULD be less, but... the issues with upgrading tickets will definitely be present.
I'm assuming more than 250 people will try to upgrade, so it's a rush to the finish line which will surely result in some people being unhappy. It is kind of frustrating that many people who want these exclusive tickets will be left out, but I find it hard to complain when I know there are a lot of people who wanted to go to the festival in the first place yet couldn't secure tickets because of the system... so we should consider ourselves lucky.
Yes, if you spend a lot of money on merchandise, and actually get that free drink (if you were intending to drink anyway), it could be worth the money. Having exclusive seats and signing sessions would also be worth it, to some people. I thought about this and figured... I might as well try to get the upgrade, and if I don't, I won't be too upset about it. But, with all the issues with the system... I'm very cautious about possibly messing up my existing tickets.
i thought we were already getting shirts from attending?? (or is that jus part of first 1800 presale??)
I plan on trying to get one.
