No, it should not unless they give equal treatment to the rest of the classes in XIV. Like it or not, crafters are classes. We have always been classes here. And SE sold us crafters a game in which we could level crafts as a class instead of a pastime when we weren't lobbing off heads in a grind party. And that isn't just one or some of them, it is all of them.
The sheer volume of items you need to make is fairly ridiculous right now.
hahahah we will see how this one turns out lol.
My answer is of course no because i am ranking up jobs currently and my gaol was to reach max. If i can not then the job is LIMITED.
I'd like it to be hard but achievable. The difficulty should come from how you gather the mats to grind on though not from how many times you have the patience to press the action key.
Look at XI crafting websites for example there are endless ways to level up any craft and they all involve very different phases of progress. In XIV by giving you free mats they have taken out a big factor of the economy and gameplay experience.
Since people apparently don't like to read guides online I think a recipe book could be used as a guide for where the mobs are that might drop the mats for the item you want to craft. It could even show their approximate location on the map just like during the leves.
Wow lemme give this thread a little bump for ya lol.
