Loot Trends [RANT]or[DEV HELP PLEASE]

I'm not exactly sure what a better method would be, but there must be something. My static mostly disappeared for various reasons so I haven't been doing SCoB, but I remember from the first Coil that certain items seemed to rain down on us while others remained absent for months at a time. It's just how it is with a system like this. I mean, statistically there are probably a few teams out there that always get something new until they've seen everything drop, but there are lots of reports of 'x" gear always dropping, though what 'x' is varies wildly between accounts.

I know there were 2 or 3 pieces of MNK gear form the first Coil that I just flat out never saw. One of them was the turn 1 ring. Must've cleared that 25 times or so, but never saw it.

Why is the possibility of PRNG using time as a variable to derive the final value so hard to understand?

We went 10 weeks with 0 DRG drops. It was like a perfect game. But someone had to point it out... then we got DRG loot. Sad day.

We see the most tank gear. Least is caster gear.

RNG is RNG - every week we see the tank or healer boots in T6 without fail....gotta love it.

coil is one of the worst loot systems I have ever seen or heard of in a MMO. With the first coil I cleared everything but t5 for over 4 months and the only mage piece that ever dropped was a ring. Now I got the boots and necklace(worthless) with my first group, Ring on day 1 with my(now old because I moved) group other then that another mage piece has never dropped form coil in months and we have a summoner in our group who needs the accuracy. Same thing is happening with Coil 2 and it makes me not even give a care in the world for coil3 in fact the whole gear progressions from coil is awful and non realistic nor progression. Hell this is the main reason only 1% of players have cleared coil because no one wants to spend 6 months beating the same thing just to get an item not a single person in the party has a use for. In fact I don't know a single person happy abotu the upcoming coil because we don't see a point. A token system would fix all coil problems yet SE refuses to do anything. Now so many people who don't do coil because the loot systems is So God Awful I guarantee if SE fixed loot more people would actually care about coil.

SE is not going to change this.
It is just an artificial increase of content lifespan.

I gave up on the second turn. The lock out needs to go. It was a mess when I quit trying in May. When the lockout was gone on the first turns I had a lot of fun. Farmed a lot of gear I wanted.

I would like to see them replaced by a token system. A boss will drop a token (Unassembled High Allagan Chest or whatever) which can be traded for the HA piece for that slot somewhere, probably Mor Dhona. To prevent loot ninjas they could probably (not certain though) make it so that if you have the HA piece for that class and that slot in your inventory or armoury you couldn't roll need. That way people can't farm in HA gear for their lower jobs or stack quite as easily. Alternatively they could make the boss drop a chest/legs etc, allow anyone to need it (sane check as above) and then give that player the correct item for their class if they win.
