This. Early morning hunts are quite fun. People can be quite polite. Prime time though? It's a madhouse free for all.
I think this may sum it up. There's no mocking on Balmung, at least not on EU prime times when I play. There's not much (but still some) anger at early pulls it's more exasperation these days, like "Really? You couldn't wait for 90 seconds?" compared to the early days of "Joe Bloggs pulled! BLIST! Everyone BLIST Joe Bloggs"
This concept of "early pullers" needs to die in a fire. B rank mobs aren't meant to be waited on for the whole server to show up; what happens then is most people don't get full credit. This OCD people get of "oh I'm entitled to every single mark that shows up no matter who found it" is ridiculous.
And intentional resets are griefing and covered under ToS, I know I'll be starting to report people doing it and recommending others do also.
On the weekend there is much rage during hunts on Gilgamesh. All the trolls are out of school or not working. On weekdays during the morning or very late it night it's very nice. People wait, say please and thank you, etc. It's a complete turnaround from the weekends. Primetime on weekdays can still be nice as long as the trolls are napping.
It's griefing 100%. B ranks were not meant for everyone and their mother on the server to gang up on. That's more in line with an S rank, and even then there are still too many people. We had this issue early on with FATE mobs, people would continually reset the fate mob for various reasons. Which is why SE disabled provoke for them, and they also said to report those who did it.
It hasn't done a thing for the community. If anything, people are more divided now than they were before since everyone is fighting over the same mobs and only a handful are actually getting the full credit for kills.
Hunts are flawed, I won't deny it, but you know what? They are actually the first genuine mmorpg content this game has.
Ever since hunts started I : 1) Found myself playing more. There wasn't a time when I told myself "wow, everything is capped/locked out, what to do?" 2) Exploring Eorzea, seeing players around. Areas like central shourd found new life instead of being desert town 3) Talked with people. I expanded my FL, joined Hunt LS and made some friends, joined parties were people actually talk about random stuff, organized S Rank spawn
Hunts created a community, to begin with. Yes, some people are quite selfish, but what do you except in a game based on Instances and DF?
I hope Yoshida has the guts to nerf the sands/oils in tonight's patch. Would make the hunts less of a zerg-fest all day.
