Think like this, every mob (bosses & raid bosses incl.) have a chance to drop their card. Cards are all tradable.
Cards Spiritbond from use, slower rate for higher grades. Once Spiritbonded, they can be converted into an item from the creature's loot table. Certain ones can even merit unique drops (e.g. Minions). Spiritbond % is reset upon trading or sale.
How much value would this add to the game. If like Tetra Master, the cards could slowly grow in power at certain SB intervals (up to a maximum).
