I think it's possible because the teams are not progressing at the same speed. If one team is behind others and as such the patch is delayed, that only affects the said team's progress.

To provide an example, it was not scheduled that the beastman encampments would make it to 1.18, but they did (due to delay). Similarly, chocobos were not meant to be seen before 1.20, but now they're otw for 1.19.

It'd certainly be nice to see 1.20 before the end of September, but it sounds quite unlikely. 1.19 however, might just make it. It shouldn't be too far off if it doesn't.

I found a pretty up-to-date listing of expected items for patches in the near future on ZAM.

I'd love it if you were right. That's part of the reason I thought to toss these questions out there, that development isn't linear and things may be changing all the time given the pace of these different teams working on XIV.

Ultimately, I think we might see a Letter from the Producer this week, likely later in the week. Hopefully if this doesn't get a response some of it is touched on anyway.

There's a particular furor as people seem to forget that 1.18 was part of a larger plan. Yoshi-P said it best, that they can't try and release everything all at once or nothing would get done. Hopefully we'll hear something soon :)
