2.3 New Crafting Accessories Materia Stat Caps

So, here's what I know about desynthing so far. ilvl ?-49 gear can desynth into Demimateria Is. The higher end of that yield two of them when they give you Demimateria. ilvl 55 items can yield Demimateria II (and never give Is), and often give two (though I've also gotten one once). I'm scared of what ilvl is required for a chance ato the Demimateria IIIs or the Matercraft Demimateria. When they give (non-clear) Demimateria, DoW/DoM items can yield Battlecraft Demimateria, and DoL/DoH items can yield Fieldcraft Demimateria.

You can get the new books and the new tools from the same guy who sold the old books and the old tools. To get the new books, each one costs 5 Fieldcraft Demimateria I and 5 Battlecraft Demimateria I (really not that bad, I already have two of the books). To get the new tools is a different story... The tools require 5x of the new token items. Each token item costs 2x Fieldcraft Demimateria III to craft. I don't even know what you have to desynth to get Fieldcraft IIIs, but I'm scared it'll wind up being the old Artisan tools. I don't know of anything else above ilvl 55 for crafters or gatherers, and ilvl 55 has only given me IIs so far.

There are additional requirements for the new tools, but I can't recall them off the top of my head. I think they also require Mastercraft Demimateria, but I don't remember how many. The new tools aren't that much better than the Artisan ones.

(FYI, unlike when converting, the Aetheryte Ring yields Fieldcraft Demimateria - very nice for GSMs given how cheap they are to make)

Actually I think you do need the Artisan tools to get the new lvl 75 tools. The new tools require 5x 3-star test mats (the upgraded versions of the 50x 2-star test mats used to get the Artisan tools). Even with the new crafting gear, fully melded, and food, I don't think it's possible to meet the minimum 3-star requirements without using an Artisan tool. I would be happy for someone to crunch the numbers and prove me wrong, but on a quick calculation I don't think I am.

That's not to mention the 3 Mastercraft demimateria you need to get the new tools, which look like they're going to be VERY difficult or expensive to get - probably from desynthesis of level 90 gear.

EDIT: As Nyalia points out, the Fieldcraft III may be even worse than the Mastercraft. I've also only gotten level II demis from level 55 crafting gear. And Artisan gear is the only thing higher... I would suggest trying it on the Specs and not the tools though!

Yeah, I realized after I posted that if you have to desynth ilvl 70 items, you really want to desynth the Artisan's Spectacles. You can buy them for 10 HQ Spicy Tomato Relish, which is really not that bad. It'll only be terrible if 100 GSM desynth skill gives you a low % chance of success, or if there's a low chance to get 1 Fieldcraft Demimateria III from it. Or if it has to be spiritbound..... I've made a ton of three star synths and my specs aren't even close to spiritbonding.

As a random sidenote, the new token items do not need to be HQ. I don't think they even CAN be HQed. The DoL ones are marked like shards/crystals/etc in that they have a HQ chance of -.

I heard you have to trade in your artisan in order to get the new one. So either way, with what you have written or what I have just written, that takes care of that.

No, you don't trade in your artisan tool. You trade in the blue tool you received from your level 50 class quest.

At least the new 3 star crafts required for tool exchange don't require HQ, but still curious to find out where the Fieldcraft Demimateria III comes from.

Edit: Also holding onto all my clear demimateria in hopes of that goblin being able to transmute them 1 day

But just to confirm, you do recommend/need having the ilvl70 artisan primary tool in order to craft what you need for the ilvl75 primary tool?

Can you hit 391 Craftsmanship and 374 Control (the requirements for any three star item, including the new tokens) without the artisan tool? I'm pretty sure you can't...

They're actually HQ Uncraftable, which is nice.

One potential theory that may be worth trying is melding DOH/DOL materia onto i70 gear and desynthing those to see what the results are.

Reason this comes to mind is because clear demimateria is an item as well and that is just a plain/blank slate suggesting that the essence of the weapon/armor/tool couldn't be drawn out and it turned into a plain mold of it's potential. So maybe if you were to add materia that influenced it to be a field demimateria it might be enough to at least offer the opportunity to obtain it through battle gear.
