Well introducing new dungeons lower level isn't so much of an issue as they can tack it to the story similar to CT (A quest barrier for entry but the quest to access is significantly lower level) that sent people to CC or was it Qarn I forget but I remember it was alot of people decked out in i70 gear that still never ran it because they skipped it with fate grinding. So they could drop a 30 and 45. I think the issue comes at below 30 as it is jobless so it being tediously easy comes into play as there being a really hard lower level dungeon would turn of some people as well as be devoid of teaching mechanics for later fights as it would have to introduce new one shot mechanics to make it level appropriate. Pharos is a fine example, I liked the dungeon before the nerf still do, Siren was easy to me the zombie/corrupt musketeer was the problem as the burst damage mechanic of the stacks isn't a creeping climb but an instant realization and punishment. Some people still bail on it in df the moment it pops I think SE would want to avoid that at pre 30.
I totally agree with this!Quote:
a pre 50 leviathan and ore 50 ramuh
Just like we have the storymode Primals before the HM/EX ones.
Would be a great idea to get the basic mechanics of the fights down for the low levels and yet it would still be a challenge when you got into the required LVL 50 fights.
I'd love to see trial mode versions of Levi, Ramuh, and Shiva. Leviathan would be tough to rationalize, though, given that his arena (the Whorleater) isn't even constructed until late in the level 50 main scenario storyline. There are ways around this, with advantages and disadvantages:
1. Change the main storyline to include an early Leviathan appearance, as well as early construction of the Whorleater. This would kind of suck for players who have already completed the main scenario missions; even if they are still able to unlock the fight, those are storyline cutscenes they miss out on.
2. Make it an optional trial (in much the same way that Halatali is an optional dungeon) with a brand-new arena. The Sahagin managed to sneak in a low-level summoning, and it's up to you to put the Primal down! This would require a lot of development since a new arena would be required, and has a bit of conflict with the main scenario lore (which talks a lot about the last Leviathan summoning many years before and how catastrophic it was); perhaps this summoning could be so under the radar that folks like Merlwyb never even notice it (and thus continue to believe that the last summoning was years before)?
I completely agree with this (though I'm in no hurry to level Rogue/Ninja when everyone else does). More pre-end game! But I wouldn't expect to see it anytime soon.
/em pulls out the ol FFXI ledger and reads "And ye, shall henceforth level in the dunes before traversing onward to qufim. so it is written so shall it always be."
No it doesn't. Yoshi-P explicitly wanted everyone to rush through 1-50 quick to be at endgame and he succeeded. There's no point focusing on adding more to what's essentially a tutorial mode and beside, new upcoming classes is enough of a reason for many to go back and enjoy the grind again.
instead of more pre level 50 content maybe increase the difficulty of the pre 50 content so the new players are more prepared for the post 50. Add mechanics that mimic post 50 but are not as punishing.
I would personally hate any content that is made harder just for kicks, it adds nothing to the game and will just put people off.
Adding post 50 mechanics can be unforgiving at the best of time, and for people in leveling gear would be hell #votesNO
But yes some lower content would be a great addition, as said beast and maps were a nice start , though could of been introduced a lot earlier
Hurray for fates!
