I'm on your side OP, some people are silly to worry about lvl16 dungeon. Seriously, Eos is like a 4th member, keep DPS-ing

As a career healer and WHM main, I'll say you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. People are never happy. Not only that, they're all different and never expect the same thing.
Sit on your MP so you can be sure to have it available and do your job - "why are you standing there, you've got time/MP to nuke, why no holy"; put up cleric for the run and obviously not focus on healing, no one's happy and risk of wipe.
I just go in and assess as we run. I dps when I can. I rarely holy. And you know, people bitch about this. How can you complain about "heals" when no one died? Guess what, people do!

The biggest problem is that most people don't really understand how little value scholar protect is. Especially in the really low levels. I'd say you were in the right. The bard was too ignorant of game mechanics to understand the distinction, pair that with rude and over bearing and I'd have probably called him something more colorful than "idiot." You'd be well in your rights to report them for vote kick abuse.
LOL i do exactally the same, who cares about protect, and if they kick me i thank god cause i would probablly beg to leave after a few cause they are bad.
If it wasn't for PVP I wouldn't even have protect on my bar as a SCH.
It's a bit more difficult as a whm because there is no pet constantly spamming embrace like a very potent regen. Im not surprised they might've messed up the cleric stance dance by making poor judgement. That is why I go in as sch.Yes I queued as a healer, but that is because I can do my job and I know I can add the extra DPS that can make the run go faster instead of setting the tank on follow and afking while the pet heals like I've heard people do. But then again they also got commendation for doing so.
Please read the original post again because I'm pretty sure the situation was I was getting verbally abused first for not having protect and that may have set me off to use his own words towards him and call him an idiot back. But your argument is invalid because no one was near half health let alone dead before I was kicked. If I see the tank pull the whole dungeon I will come out of cleric stance. It's what I call playing from experience.
Good for you OP because they vote kicked you, so you don't have to endure a torturous Dun run and you cam always re-queue because you have no penalty on you and I bet cha that they will soon regret it because a Healer is hard to come by compared to a DPS. So, by the time you get into your next Duns, they will still probably be waiting for another healer.
And as for the group, if the bard is such a scaredy cat for a low lv duns run with no protect, he will, as a matter of time, soon complain about how Tank can not hold aggro properly and the run is so slow, yada, yada and the group actually go through with that kick, soon you will find yourself in a situation in which you just want the run is over or vote-kick someone else. So by kicking you, they actually do yourself a favour. Leave it behind, and move to the next :)
Thanks for the replies. Good to hear it from other experienced scholars especially because as someone else said there are such close-minded players also quick to judge when they don't have much experience with the class let alone have the class to 50. Don't get me wrong, I do think protect is important but when you can only cross class 1 skill at that level I think faster DPS makes more of a difference and adds more enjoyment when a dungeon is done quickly rather than dragging on when heavy heals isn't required.
