I can't imagine real tank (called casters) free in this game...
I play MRD with all the DPS abilities but I don't usually start out by chasing down the other team's healer. I let the real DPS do that. I usually hang back to protect our team's healer with holmgang or stuns. You don't really need to have an ability to force the other team to attack you. You can disrupt them enough so they have to pay attention to you. I'm not an expert PvPer of course but this strategy has been working really really well for me so far.
lol when i play with my friend we always rush the tank 1st, why u may ask its cause they never expect to get rushed and get their shit pushed in, its funny to see mrd use homgang on me for me to backflip then kill them lol. Theres alot of different ways to deal with different players and playstyle just takes alot of pvping to see how peoople play
PLD kinda leans in that direction, but its not enough.
It would be pretty interesting to see things like provoke, flash, overpower, defiance/shield oath, and even quelling strikes to have some kind of use in PvP. But oh well, let the 6-7k HP healers take on the role of tanks.
That doesn't work when the enemy healer isn't stupid.
I wouldn't mind provoke making the other player auto target you with no duration. They can just tab away from you if they notice fast enough, then provoke would just be kind of like a small interrupt.
As a healer, I always die first. Even if I stick with the tank or the powerful dps.
I managed to get the opposing team's healer slept for the first time, but their PLD and DRG stun-locked me after that.
Not to mention a BRD binding me, causing me to not be able to heal members behind me.
Instead of a system of hate, that would be complicated, you could make the tank a real controller by replacing the skill of damage with binding skill or petrifying skill of short duration like the trash in T1 or CT. Right now only Testudo allow a tank on help the party.
p.s: sorry for the bad english :P
