Id hardly call 166 posts "new" to the forums

and you'd have to have some extreme tunnel vision to have a lvl 50 and not know by now that the bard Limit is healing, theres topics on the forums about it constantly and bards in game talking about it constantly.

Just imagine a 4th 'support' role exists and that's why Bards have the limit break they do, then start to wonder why support has the same LB as healers and that it's more useful when support uses it.

Btw it is much more difficult for the melee to lb/hit the damn thing if you are kiting it.

They really should just give Bards a LB that is akin to Bloodlust or something on WoW. A 15s haste/damage buff for the whole party or something. That would be more fitting for Bards since they are a 'support' role, not a healer or strictly dps.

It's obvious that the only reason they got the healer LB is because the ranged DPS LB uses magic and SE was too lazy to make one with different graphics for them.

Back in 1.0 Bards had access to healing abilities and the 2ndary necessary class to go BRD was Conjurer. They switched it to Pugilist for 2.0 on, but they never fixed it so Archers/Bards would have a different LB. I guess to avoid them becoming all that and a bag of chips.

All Lb´s are gonna be reworked . Job Related Limit Breaks are alsready in the works and Anounced. So i think maybe Bard will get the EES back (2h from FFXI Eagle Eye Shot, was the most devastating single target action you could get would fit in with Melee Lb just different Animation) =)

It may not feel that way early on, but yes, Bards are a support DPS class.

They're the only non-healing class in the game capable of reviving the healers/tanks DURING battle. Technically speaking, there's no reason why a Healer should ever need to LB as long as another healer is alive. But once all healers are dead, the Bard is the last resort between guaranteed wipe in a duty. Which makes sense, since bards are typically the last players standing alongside the tanks in a wipe situation.


Balance wise though, I actually would disagree with giving bards a DPS-oriented limit break that would actually compete with Melee/Mage LBs. That would very sharply run the risk of Bard becoming the uncontested "top tier" dps.

Melee needs to keep their most powerful LB status. It's too tempting in too many fights to just do ranged only so it's nice to have one more reason to at least bring one melee. To me, it makes sense to have ranged physical dps be their own LB type. Maybe have it be a line attack like the first boss in pharos does. Power would probably be somewhere between the Melee single target and Mage AoE.

Why point out that a question has been asked before? -.- Like it matters? Oh no, one more forum post. The world shall now explode. Trust me, there are posts on this forum that are far more useless. At least they now KNOW what LB Bard has and why.

I have always wondered why I cant have heals, protect and raise if I have a healing LB - just doesnt make any sense and seems like they gave bard this LB because they couldnt think of anything else to give them
