A way for everyone to be happy with level cap?

I agree, but that has nothing to do with the gear progression model. =]

Idc if they keep increasing the lvl cap but can the first one be big like make it lvl 60 or 70 right away then do slight upgrades over the years.

You realize that in the end, more people are going to be irritated at this than if it's a steady flow, right? It will be XI all over again with 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, and 75 caps. Then it stagnates until no more side-grades will appease players and WHAM, 20 levels after years of hard work at 75.

Unless you're talking about having the big WHAM 20 levels now and then each year doing 5 or so levels. It is better to get that WHAM shock over with sooner than later. At least now people have only had less than a year to get attached to their gear.

In about all history of FF the max rank is 99 am sure FFXIV would get to 99 at some point. They said they want to rise the level cap every 1-2year meaning we could get 5-10 level per 1-2years worth of stuff to do.

Me i like to see me going somewhere so grinding doing leve is pretty boring unlike ffxi where the area change. So having the game stop forever at some level range is pretty boring so seeing a level cap rise every year or two is pretty good.

At least maybe when 99hit in ffxiv it wont be as crazy as ffxi.

I quit for a while before they raised caps in FFXI, I was going back on to play until someone pointed something out.. Went something like this

me: I think i'm gunna start playing again, I miss FFXI
person: Didn't you have full usukane and full merits for MNK, PUP, SAM, and NIN and all other jobs at 37?
me: Yep! Took 6 years but yea.. why?
person: They raised the level cap now
me: Oh?
Person: Yea, usukane isn't all that great now, and you'd need to level all your mains to the new cap and all other jobs to the new subjob level
me: wtf are you serious about the level cap thing?
person: yup, and people are all running around gimped in skill because it only takes 3 days to go from 30 to the new cap, but you don't get skillups at the same time
me: .. screw that, I think i'll wait for FFXIV to get better

Prime example of why you cannot let an MMO stagnate at one level.

If you don't work for 6+ years on pimping out your character, then you don't feel like the devs tore you a new one when a level cap comes.

They'd be silly to not increment in 10s. Everything in this game is based on 10s. Leves, behests, gathering grades, gear sets and probably more.

I dun think they need to do that idk theres games out there that do same thing as this wow for example raising cap ever 1-2 year and thats pretty successful as u can c

I thought leves started to go by 5's at a certain point. Either way, 5, 10, doesn't matter. The point is that they need to gradually increase the level cap over time instead of the disaster of Abyssea.
