im legacy and was online most of 1.0 till now just to hang out with some friends and do slowly some stuff . and i love the game and love how its become and SE is doing great work

i did play the 1.0-1.23, sorry but the game have greatly evolve since that time. the V1 had large empty area as map, no real identity into it. simply large landscape with some monster there and there. the Shroud was horrible it was simply corridor copy paste all the way.
the fight was slow, and some classe was simply... well i will talk of the Monk since it was mine. it had capacity for tank, but was a dps... the jobs was never balance.
the few dungeon we had was unbalanced to the point that only some jobs was wanted the other was simply left out.
let's continue about the few dungeon, it was running to a point, sleep all for take a break, move until have enough enemy and blast all with AoE... some fight was impossible with a melee. the drop rate was ridiculous, some people was simply farming the dungeon and have never seen more than 3-5 part of them dl drop.
all the game was about grind, grind, grind and...grind. no fun at all, grind is nothing more than a form of work. here we have the fun, that the most important part! we don't spend month and years for be able to face the challenge... no! here we face the challenge!
we have a world, more living, more beautifull, class more balanced, more content to do, more way to level up a class (than simply farm monster in monster party), more activity to do and it will increase with each patch.
sorry, but if you want a game about grind, FF14 ARR will never be that. Yoshida have said it, what the point to connect to a game for not have fun! the FF11 playerbase that still ask to make FF14 ARR a FF11-2 or FF11 HD, have simply loose of sight that the mmorpg have evolve. it's over the time where people was spending tons of hours for get soo little. here we get a lot with a decent time spend!

Do people really feel the need to poison any and all positive threads on this forum? It's bad enough as it is.
I agree I like this game a lot more than version 1. People stopped playing it for a reason. There may have been good things, but it was a train wreck as a whole. ARR has it's issues, it's lacking features version 1 had. But overall I'd definitely say it's better. And it's captured my attention more than any other MMO on the market right now. Surely I'm not alone. -

Thank you for this great game. I've been playing since beta, and my girlfriend would watch me play constantly. Which eventually meant that i had to build another PC, purchase another copy of the game, and pay another monthly subscription.
Money well spent. -
