If u have no Caster LB around, that is a viable alternative. Single killing snakes one by one to always reset the debuff timer on the big snake. It is also easier for the tank and healer because not so much dmg is incoming, just a matter of timing. Then when all snakes are dead, enjoy DRG LB3 on 4stacked big snake, really hits like a truck :D

Saw anyone who attempted to do this successfully? Because I find it lame not to bring atleast one caster in your lineup, and what class would you pick to replace the caster?

Not bringing a caster to slowdown dreads might pose problem as well, 2 PLD will work out, but that would mean there's atleast 4 players with 2 similar class will be in the party which will slow down the LB gauge.

I saw a video where they killed off snakes one by one, I try to find it.

As we were progressing at twin we also tried this sort of strategy, although we had casters around we were curious how hard a Melee LB3 hits on big snake, it was nice about ~25%. It is just another viable strat, but not the easiest one though. We stick to 1/2/5 and standard caster LB2 (LB3 is never full on our runs).

Thats the nice thing about Turn 4 and Turn 5, there are many viable (more or less difficult) strategies for different class setups, you have just to figure it out and practice.

SCH can apply Disease which lowers movement speed, and WHM has Stone and you are guaranteed to have one of the two.

I'm not sure if both of the skill has sure hit on dreads, but I wouldn't risk it. Plus, it'll be too crowded within Twintania's area if you have 5 melee there, assuming 2 tanks + 3 melee DPS (since you're not having a caster) + Bard.

I'm not saying it's impossible, it's just that it's not optimal IMHO.

For the sound, I turn off

BGM, Voice and Ambient Sound

Sound Effects and System Effects are at Max. Player Effects Volume is maxed too.
I put HIDE on my UI for names too because I don't need to see the name on screen, have the party list for that. Visuals are limited if not completely turned off, it also helps to turn off flying text.

Its pretty easy and lets your sch save lustrates for after dive bombs so they can dps assist asciep and spot Lustrate. Kill one before 2nd set of dive bombs and the other during it in between the 2nd and 3rd dive bombs. Its much easier.

How is that much easier when the first 2 small snakes are always pretty much dead already when LB'd? The only difference I see is when pulling the other 2 far snakes also, giving more time for healers to top up the tanks.

Yes, we were one of the first groups to kill Twintania (i.e. we weren't stacked with i90 gear), and we would kill one snake asap, then hold the second snake and kill it during dive bombs to extend the debuff, and LB3 the second set of snakes.

Now we (and most groups) have too much gear and don't reach LB3, so we have to hold two snakes through dive bombs.

In other news, focus target is a thing.

I see. We probably overgeared the content I guess (due to holidays, so we can't run properly) and when we did, it's literally became a walk in the park.
