Looting system - can we see lots before drop?

Hell there were stories going around (true or not) of people getting vote-kicked from CT at start of 2.1, because someone wanted the drop that they got better lots on (and that was without seeing it).. it might not be so bad now though, didn't they fix kick and/or abandon such that they can't be used while loot is in the pool?? Should apply if party is actively engaged as well though I think.

Also that, we should have the option of passing after lotting.

Ive been kicked from an Ultima farming party as BRD today just because i said i was greeding on the Tank ring, in case they didnt want it.
The leader was a WAR who won the ring and still kicked me from party after we all left the instance, so... yh.

Sorry you got kicked. But could have been for many reasons. Maybe they wanted someone else in the party. Maybe it was something else you did or didn't do or said. I doubt wanting loot was the reason.

To much room for abuse. The biggest issue, "Oh look, this person rolled higher than me, I'll kick him from the party because I'm a dick and want the loot for myself!"

They fixed that for CT, but for premades in other things it can still run rampant. I've never been a victim, but I have been in a group where someone was booted because they rolled higher than the party leader on loot they wanted. Sure, you could say don't say what you rolled, but sometimes just being on the same job as a person who wants the loot is bad enough.

It's all about being fair. Hiding loot rolls until everyone has casted lots and the item has then been distributed is the most fair way to handle it imo.

Sorry OP, as much as this system would be cool for people who wouldn't abuse it, there are just too many ways this can be abused for it to implemented IMO. Hell, ever since we got Vote Abandon and people couldn't see if their duty was In Progress anymore, I've heard stories of people from Alliances just spamming Vote Abandons throughout the entirety of CT. All because they didn't get an In Progress run. If people are willing to do that over just having to run an entire Raid, well I'm sure you can imagine some nasty things being done to someone that rolled higher....

I agree on this part and as other have replied, implement a passing after already lotting

This loot will all be obsolete in a month. I don't know why people care so much. Just roll need if you need, greed if you can't need and don't sweat it.

I like upgrades as much as the next guy, but gear is throwaway... no reason to waste too much time on it or too much energy- cept maybe Mog weapons.... because... squishy fluffy Mogs...

I dont get what does this have to do with the thread.

Weither it is a lvl 15 drop, future Allagan 2 or whatever, if people see what you rolled its an open room for griefing.

Add a status to the Party Information tab. Would look like this:
"Loot: Need enabled/disabled"

Status locks upon entering an instance.
Within an instance, Status may only be unlocked with a unanimous vote.
