Makes me want to switch to my whm while traveling around just to remove that debuff but I am usually not in the mode to switch jobs all the time.

20 seconds is just overkill. I wouldn't care if it was something short like 5 seconds, even when used by players. That's all the time it takes an enemy to walk to you if you don't move, and it's plenty of time to get out of melee range when you need to get away. If I wasn't a WHM I'd be cursing and swearing up a storm every time I run back to turn in my daily quests, instead of just grumbling about it and sprinting onward after Esuna.
This is one of those things that bothers me literally every day, but I was never proactive enough to post about it. Good on ya, OP. Although I have this feeling that it will never change and complaining about it is futile. But stranger things have happened I suppose.
I would rather have to figure out ways to travel around mobs like in 1.0 rather than deal with this stupid heavy they have. Drives me crazy when its about to wear just for it to get reapplied.
Actually every mob has this ability and can do so with any of their attacks, it's just harder to notice it with lower level mobs because most aggressive mobs under level 40 are melee, and the ones that are ranged are less likely to be in your way.
But yes, this is nothing more than a nuisance and doesn't make the beast tribe stronghold any more dangerous.
These mobs never inflict heavy on you if you are on foot, only if you are mounted.
I think it's funny that you want them to either remove this nuisance or make the mobs an actual threat (multiplying the nuisance several fold).
I think the name change from 1.0 is really confusing, I've seen so many people say that all enemy attacks induce Heavy, which is kind of true, but still not. If you see it as most attacks having the added effect of Heavy, no sense at all is made. The status effect that you got if attacked while mounted used to be called "Lame", basically the chocobo gets hurt and runs slower, which makes a lot more sense. It was a way to make it harder to travel through bunches of enemies with high level (which doesn't even exist now), so it has effectively turned into nothing but an annoyance and seems to exist for no other reason than "it used to be that way".
(Lame used to wear off if you dismounted, you could then re-mount without the Lame status after de-aggroing. They need to bring this back.)
