There is no excuse for SE to not be able to get enough servers to support personal homes, especially after they are going to have like 6+ months past release to anticipate the need and set them up. They are a AAA company for gawd's sake; not some poor indie studio.
Q: will individual housing prices be based off server Gil amount like the FC housing?

We need to look at this from a logical point of view. Not from I feel this or feel that SE is not doing their job or not thinking properly. Cause 600,000 personal instances, each one being unique, is not something like 450 FC lots that we have at the current time.
We go from a couple hundred too possibly half a million or more instances. Not too mention if they don't limit the amount of houses per person, some people could buy multiples.
I wouldn't be surprised if we crashed x100 times at personal housing release. -

They really should remove the possibility of selling the deeds between players and just cap each character to 1 housing limit. If people want to move houses, they can just sell the land back to the NPC where people would buy from it. -

From a logical view point, it is highly unlikely, personal housing would receive multiples or any of these features.
Not to mention, FC lots, require players to really be dedicated to the FC. It puts a lot of stress on social interactions and trust. Giving them these specific features continues to promote the use of FCs. Giving personal housing too many of these features will draw this more into a single player RPG game versus a MMO.
Not impossible that personal housing may get some features but I would not put my bets on it knowing these facts.
That is why my FC and I are investing in a FC house versus a personal house. If things do flip flop, we could easily buy dozens of personal houses even after purchasing a good quality FC lot. We are aiming the safest route versus sitting and waiting to be possibly disappointed. -

Two things.
1. If you think personal housing will be affordable, then you don't learn from history, very very recent history. Remember, until FC Housing prices were announced, we were told that the gil earned by going lvl1-50 on three character would be enough for a FC housing...
2. To those that think FFXIV would have a hard time giving all of us personal housing, remember FFXI gave each character/mule their own moghouse which is the same idea as in FFXIV, a small area that you can customize. So if 11 year old FFXI can do it, it would be expected that FFXIV can handle it. Besides, if a small FC house is the same size as a FFXI Moghouse then personal housing will probably be less than half the size of your INN ROOM. -

He said it would cost around the amount of gil you get from leveling a class to 50 TIMES THREE (so around 500k x 3, since I've heard people say that if you saved most all your quest gil you'd have around 500k at 50). He never said 'four separate people's worth of savings for one house' in the original vid where they talked about housing costs. He was talking about personal house pricing in that vid, not FC houses.Quote:

They failed to realize how many people in an effort to make money turned to one of the few places they can make money which is the market place. Which caused massive price drops the hardest hit were the "Legacy worlds" and the nonlegacy players who joined that server to play with their friends who were legacy. I think they need to come up with new ways in which to decide prices on the new things that come out because all the new system does is push players who are impatient or tired of working hard to make money into the arms of RMT. What they should do for the player housing is announce a rough estimate of what the prices for the houses might be watch the markets on each world and the FC's and see how each economy reacts and adjust the prices accordingly. So that new content makes the game more enjoyable for all not just some like has been my experience lately.
