I was just going by his definition of a dq. I know many a drag queen and it is almost always a form of self expression and very few do it soley for entertainment purposes.

P.S. Wikipedia is by far the worst way to prove an argument since most information on Wikipedia is flat out false or incorrect. Hence why Wikipedia is not allowed as a source in any college course I have ever taken.

Thinking about it again logically you have it wrong. The thing in this game most like drag queens are male healers. Males wearing dresses/leggings etc. Personally though I'd never place anyone into any type of stereotype or classification based on how they play a video game.

If they're refering themselves as males, the right word for it would be "crossdresser", no?

I don't even understand what's so interesting in playing female characters anyway.

I'm not a nine foot tall frost giant IRL, and I'm willing to bet good money that you aren't either.
Playing as one in a video game doesn't mean I'm attempting to pass myself off as a "nine foot tall frost giant queen" or anything.


It means that visually and thematically, that is the type of character that appealed to me. Same thing generally applies to people that play characters of opposite gender to their own IRL.


Avatar in a fantasy video game =/= reflection of idealized self/glimpse into the deepest desires of the player/surrogate for gender or body issues.

Avatar in a fantasy video game = looks frickin' sweet in that armor, let's roll.
