when tanking Garuda + Suparna is her Wicked Wheel combo based on time or damage of some sort? They both kept using Wicked Wheel right before her teleporting and kept 1 shotting me because i was unprepared and couldnt time it right
I've now done enough successful Garuda runs to say that I have no effing clue on earth how to predict Wicked Whirl when I've got her and Suprana pulled. They'll do them separately on me, they'll do them together, they'll wait until after porting, they'll do it just before porting, they'll apparently not do it at all until just before Suprana's dead and then boom double wicked whirl... I have no clue what triggers it from either and I've given up trying to figure it out. I just keep all cooldowns saved for when I've got both pulled and cycle through them as overlaps and hope to hell for the best.
For Garuda EX I think it might be easiest to pull Suprana the first phase with Garuda and Chidra and Garuda during the twisters. Chidra and Garuda do much less damage together and are very predictable for Wicked Wheel.
Hmm, that's strange. They've been happening at around the same time for me. I wonder if it's a DPS thing because the DPS is pretty consistent in the groups I run with.
In any case, you only need to predict them within a 15-20 second window, depending on what tanking class you are and which defensive CD you're using.
A QOL issue for me is having to refocus target on Garuda every time she ports away. Is there a way to keep it locked on? Or is that just how it has to be.
As warrior MTing garuda/suparna combo, MOST often, they will teleport, throw daggers (which you should avoid), then come back down and double wheel. Occasionally, they will do it about 10 seconds in before teleporting, but thats usually when theres some sort of dps issue with chirada. If everything going right, they will follow the usual pattern. So as a warrior, put a storm's path on both before they teleport. Then dodge daggers, go back in, hit vengeance, and thrill of battle. If WHM stoneskins you after thrill of battle, thats awesome mitigation. THen hit your inner beast on any target and I can survive a double wheel with 6-7k health left. Takes a bit of timing and practice, but its very manageable.
