The point is that crafting is a memory controller and botcrafter's activity now, and at this point you might as well give real players a fighting chance.

In FFXI you could level quickly if you had the resources. Your logic fails. That system was even harder to progress in, even though you could progress 10 times faster.

The point is to stop pretending the time it takes to level crafting is even done by crafters instead of programs any more, and to start emphasizing cost of mats as a means to progress in crafting. Not time.

answer is reduce sp gains for easy synths, up sp gains for hard synths, or hq synths.
or add something akin to leve quests where they can team up for some sort of more difficult quests and get pimp exp, which will make botting less effecient.



Problem with your solution is, crafting is a class, it unlocks anything level related, i dont think they would allow you to automate any class progression. at the point of auto leveling, they really should just allow you to pay thrm money, and next 24 hours you get a sp boost. Its just not a very good game mechanic.

Better off abolishing all levels and just getting skills from ranks.

Don't really see a problem with this, I've always been an advocate of having the mats harder to get than having to sit there and spam 1 key.

Yeah I think it was a noble thought to shunt a lot of the cost of levelling a craft to time and away from materials, but it just ended up making a system where yeah mats are cheap, but the entire system is very poor gameplay. It's not gameplay at all. It's just a weedout. It's hit enter while watching another media. That's what it was for me for 2 crafts. Let me catch up on 6 years of television that I had missed.

The prospect of...that...to 75...to 100? Those are life hours better spent doing ANYTHING else. I would rather farm mats because I can't afford them than to be able to afford all I want but have to sit there at the enter button for 290 hours if I want to progress. Why? Because at least when I run out of money and have to farm for it its SOMETHING else.

So many crafters still think they have what it takes to survive the weedout and become this celebrated epic on their server, when it's not going to happen and it's just wasting their time. The botters already have that title on lockdown. The memory controller folks are right behind them. The rest of us, whatever. Tired of it.

There are ways to make crafting where dedication and hard work pays off, but this is NOT it folks. This is just a waste of human life hours.

I would be vehemently against this. While you're at it, put in an autoleveler for harvesting and levequests too.

Don't like to craft? Don't do it. Simple as that.

Yeah but it's not just craft bots that are out there. Farming bots are rampant. I'm farming for another crab bow +3 attempt and I've encountered two different botters in Cassie in the past 24 hours. One belongs to the JP bot LS and the other the NA bot LS. I'll mention no names but you know who they are. So how would you combat that? Have mats dished out for free by NPCs?

Over half the remaining playerbase is botting, the only way to stop it is for mass bannings. Most botters make it so obvious that they're doing it they could be caught easily. SE should just suddenly decide to start taking botting seriously and not tell anyone until ban day. Then all these making it obvious will disappear. But the minute SE does say something these guys will stop botting, or stop making it so obvious.

Well hell, how about this Peregrine. When they add auto attack, they should remove all other abilities and weapon skills. That way, we can auto level DoW/DoM as well. And lets add way-points for getting around. Set up auto-targeting. Then we can all sit back and watch Netflix while we brag about how we're all R50 Everything, and debate how good we are based on what movies we watch.

I'm pretty torn on this one. Crafting (grind crafting) is truly the most mind numbing activity in game(followed closely by static/fail leves). At the 45+ ranks it takes hours on top of hours of just spamming that damn enter key to the point that i feel like a bot doing it. I remember with a lot of dread that final rank of GSM i did it in one sitting and my Misses to this day won't let me live it down (she doesn't play ff14 and always laughs at me when i grind craft). 8 hours straight pretty much of make silver franys, i literally felt a part of me died, however the relief and elation/joy of dinging 50 was pretty awesome.

So i'm torn about automating crafting (at least grind crafting) , i am for it ( i think?) although it would certainly defeat the sense of accomplishment a player feels dinging a craft. I certainly think a solution to crafting needs to come , perhaps allowing auto crafting up to a certain rank(not up to 50), or perhaps eliminating the chance to HQ while auto crafting, perhaps improving high rank leves for crafting to award BIG SP ( eliminating the need to make 8hrs worth of some lame item).
