People discussing long download times...i have a pretty normal internet connection (or so I thought?) my download only took 8 minutes.

PS...i know its a major patch and they said it would take 24-hours...but come on SE I wanna play lol. I'm driving 10hrs tomorow to visit family out of town and their internet is "spoody" please hurry up :D

Lucky you! I'm updating as I notice any significant changes, so far nothing is really popping up of any concern/massive joy. The download hasn't even finished for me yet, but i've been doing other things while I wait that has been using up my internet. But from what I can tell, the servers -are- getting an upgrade, so we may possibly see some decrease in lag.

I'm curious as to what your download speed is. I'm currently sitting at a steady 0.08MB/s.

I only had the time to see it was going at 15mbps+ and then it was done.

UK doesn't exactly have the best internet but discussions like the ones in this thread really make me wonder why the standard is so low in other countries.

Well, in my case, I live in a very small town with a small population. We only have five total ISPs in the area, the other 4 provide internet through Dish network. The one we currently have provides Dish as well, but we're using DSL because it bundles our phone bill and internet bill into one package. So they can dictate the speed of their internet as they see fit, and by god is it awful.

Some of you with the slow downloads may want to restart the process to see if it speeds up for you. I started the laptop and it was only getting around .6MB/s (about 4Mbits/sec)... realized I wanted to tool around the web on it for a while, so I stopped that and kicked it off on the PC---BAM! 1.8MB/sec right off the bat (around 15Mbits/sec). It eventually capped out right at 16Mb/sec (1.91MBytes/sec on their progress bar) and held there until it finished. Took about 40 minutes I think.
