BLM Changes-Pretty much shafted

well the change to the boots is really stupid. should have at least kept the acc instead of det but well, gonna have to buy AF which look stupid especially with the allagan pants.
Scathe change makes no sense at all... I also fail to see what made blizzard 2 so overpowered

What I'm really missing though is the change about the "double flare" or let's call spell speed "bug"?

I have black mage as an alt and only use a main and an alt about equally for all easy content. So I'm not just a paladin or some other class that's biased. I think we as black mages didn't get nerfed too bad. The virus nerf kind of made me scratch my head because it seemed like a great move to get cross classed. Now you only want 1 person in the group to have it basically. The blizzard 2 nerf was needed IMO. Seriously, a black mage should not basically be standing in the middle of multiple enemies to get the highest possible AOE. That's too much risk. Fire 2 should be used in the primary AOE rotation IMO. Scathe didn't need to get a nerf because it is already just a mediocre move, great to use if you need to move but otherwise you never use it. Then the freeze buff was needed. I used freeze occasionally but I don't know what enemies it works on and using it on the wrong enemies was a serious DPS loss. Now freeze can be used more often and if you try it on an enemy and it doesn't work, it won't seem as useless. Just my opinion I'm probably really off on freeze but overall black mage didn't get nerfed that bad.

the mana tick is synced now, so no more double flare

nobody seems to notice that , its the biggest nerf

cause bliz 3 -> 1st tick of mana gonna take a full 3 sec now, and when you fire 3, the following fire 1 wont be speed up like it used to be

As far as the B2 nerf and Freeze buff.
Well, Freeze NEEDED some kind of buff to make it worthwhile. What this means is that you can do 2 Freezes after Tranpose-ing after Flare instead of 2 B2's, but AT RANGE! This is effectively a buff to BLM aoe capabilities.

Well. Nearly all the aoe that you have to dodge... the range jobs have to dodge them too. Same difficulty.

Positional requirement are not "hard" since you're just ask to move behind => flank sometimes in your rotation... nothing hard, just more "intensity".

It's no biggie to me. So b2 is nerfed. dont use it anyway, even on speedruns. Scathe nerfed = so what dont use it anyway unless a mob is almost dead and i want to hurry and kill it, and isn't used on a boss unless the boss is insignificant and almost dead (speedrun bosses). My fires and firestarters, thunders and thunderclouds remain the same. Freeze gets buffed, so i 'll put a freeze somewhere after a transpose from my second flare (not from the double flare "bug") in a speedrun to give some time to heal the tank if they need it, or just let the party do whatever.

Still got big damage on what matters, still got big crits, still got good frequency of procs. Now if they decide to lower the freq of firestarter or thundercloud.....then we got problems.

I'm going to assume Scathe got a slight nerf because of pvp. Now why is that?
120 potency, 20% chance of 240 and has a chance to crit.
Now this is also insta-cast and pretty cheap as well. I've seen some pretty absurd 240pot crits.

Now for Blizz2 I've heard that people are actually using it to do almost similar dmg as with fire2, without the hassle of changing UI<>AF and dont need to worry about mp. I guess its now more inclined for pvp use, if you happen to get ganked by melee and need a quick getaway card.

They nerfed" "fixed" umbral ice, but neglected to fix Firestarter efficiency, this is the only thing that bothers me.

Along with the completely unnecessary Monk buffs.
