You are right they showing Mortal Kombat Skarlet at E3 So they can show about anything at E3.

This is actually very encouraging, it means that they are taking their franchises very seriously and are putting things back to ensure they meet the standard people expect and I don't just mean FFXIV. Deus Ex was put back so they could spend more time refining and polishing and the talk is that it is shaping up very well.

Will be interesting to see FF Vs. XIII the next time they show it and what if any changes have been made. Obviously the proof will be in the pudding if this is actually the case of why they are putting their games back to ensure the quality is there but it does seem that way to me.

I suspect the reason VXIII is being held back is because of developments in the Crystal Tools engine for the PS3 that were developed for XIV.
They dont need those improvements for XIII-2 because they dont want the graphics to change that much between the two games to save on development time. Which is valid.

Thanks Cairdeas, I didn't realise that minor DLC's and expansions were of enough consequence to qualify for something like E3, I stand corrected. But I still think that those things don't qualify for FFXIV at this juncture, maybe next year?

It doesn't mean anything. A lot of times developers at E3 show games they did not announce anywhere, they make it a "surprise". Was FFXIV confirmed for E3 last year? I'm asking cuz im not sure it was...

Yes. It wasn't announced at 09 which is when it was first announced.

Also E310 90% of the entrance way was covered in FFXIV ads.

but yea. not a surprise that xiv is not going to have a presence this year.

If SE were to announce anything about FFXIV at E3 it would just be too embarrassing, seriously, for both them and people watching. They would be the laughing stock of the games development community if they did that because:

1. People in general have a bad taste in their mouths when it comes to FFXIV, you'll only see people shaking their heads, leaving the conference room and...
2. E3, for the most part, is for new games, not already existing ones

No one is forcing them to list everything. I doubt FFXIV will actually be shown anywhere honestly but I also doubt that's all SE is gonna announce at E3.
