SCH is probably too hard to play well for jerks, so they all end up as WHM...

I think it has to do with the fact that you can press every button as it comes off cooldown... on SCH... and not even budge in MP so some WHM's hold contempt for that and assume you are not carrying your weight.
I give scholars props. I have a 50 sch, and i begin to panic heal on him when things get tight. I main as a WHM, and that suits me. Glad there are people that give this awesome class the justice and skills it needs
I recently leveled a scholar because after seeing some amazing scholars on my server I wanted to play one too. Anyone doing end game knows how good scholar is and will insist they have one in their party. People who assume scholars are poor healers just do not understand the class.
at the time when i tried to get my relic, 1 SCH in DF came with only his undies O.O
thats when my crap goes flinging around
when I down titan for the first time ( other party)
1 SCH in pt :) u're my sworn brother
i have bothe healers
but the WHM is my main and long time ago when i farmed cm for my first darklight-gear, i always loved when there was a SCH there and not a another WHM
so i dont see the problem of the WHMs you discribe
always love to see a SCH beside me ;)
tldr;
The problem is that if you know how to play a sch you will not have any mana or aggroissues as whm becourse you do know wheather the person at 50% hp is in danger or not. Heck even a whole party at 50% is fine if a succor has been cast and the fairybuff runs. A whm with no clue about the sch will just see that he healed a tiny percentage and does nothing more, spamms two medicas and complains alltough he was the one screwing things up.
This works the oher way around either but to a lesser extend becourse you usually see what the whm is doing w/o recognizing the buffbars. Why should so. succor a 80% party if medica 2 has been cast or why should you top a person at 90% with reg on it?
To be fair, this works on most trash mobs. Even in higher dungeons you can leave 90% of the healing to the fairy and focus on DPSing. Only when a tank pulls multiple enemy groups or someone else draws aggro you will have to actively heal (and sometimes the fairy can even take care of that).
But this is not true is boss battles. You will have to actively heal, and use the fairy as support instead of the other way around.
And I agree with others that having both is probably the best combination :)
